Las Vegas Harley-Davidson building dealership on the Strip

    May 14, 2013

Las Vegas Harley-Davidson is planning an $18 million flagship dealership on the south side of the city’s famous Strip.
Of the $18 million, $8 million was spent on the 5.25-acre site near the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign, reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The 50,000 square-foot two-level store will be the new home of the dealership that currently sits 2.5 miles away. Dealership president Don Andress and vice president Tim Cashman said construction is expected to begin in December, with an opening planned for October 2014.

Is it me, or is the sign in the pic facing the wrong way?

The sign is correct if the dealership is on the same side of the road as the airport, which the plane in the sky suggests it is.

It's so odd the dealer is downsizing going into this new location. Every Harley dealer I know is expanding and adding on. But, this one is getting smaller.

Yeah, I think they bought the old location of what was, the Klondike?

Where you used to park to go take your picture with the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign and run across the road.

I'm not a Harley guy, but the ladies in my office send me there to get shirts, hats and stuff around Christmas. The one they're replacing on Eastern is frickin' HUGE!!!
The store manager told me the current one if one of the largest there is, but it's in a crap location. Eastern's a busy street, but the proposed new location is SO much better!

Have you ever compared prices on shirts at the dealer to the stores in Rio or NYNY? I bought a shirt at the Harley shop in Rio and paid an arm and a leg for it, but it was a limited edition holiday printed shirt.

I'm sure that's because the reasoning behind this move is to appeal to the tourists who just want to grab a T-Shirt with Las Vegas on it, vs. people who actually want to buy a bike. Personally I think they'll kill it here, it's just going to be $25 at a time on T-shirts.
