Revel Atlantic City

Anyone ever been? Meeting a college buddy there Saturday night for dinner at Lugo & some dice. Any idea what kind of minimums at craps to expect?

 

I have not been back there since I walked through in Sept.It is actually a beautiful property.
The place was completely dead and it was Sat.afternoon.
They did just file for bankruptcy protection.
Almost all casinos are busy on Sat.night in AC.I would expect at least a couple $10-$15 dice tables.

 

An excellent modern property. Everything there is top notch. Even the table games are fairly moderate minimums for such a nice place. Many good restaurants. I highly recommend it. I just think they mismanaged where they thought they'd make revenue from. Would be a top 5-7 vegas property if in the desert. I think only bellagio, wynncore, the M, and cosmo could be considered better or on par.

 

I've seen them for 10.00 before but last there in August but will be heading back in less than 2 weeks.

 

I think "they mismanaged where they thought they'd make revenue from" is putting it politely. In my opinion, they basically made the same mistake that Cosmopolitan did -- namely, they thought that if they played up the "resort" angle, they could make all their money from F&B while ignoring that whole pesky casino aspect. Revel seemed to have ignored the fact that Cosmopolitan is still losing $30 million a quarter, and I'm pretty sure the only reason that they're still afloat is because Marquee is the top-grossing nightclub in the country, pulling in about $90 million a year. That model is barely working in Las Vegas; there's no way Revel could have made it work in Atlantic City.

All that being said, I think $10-15 is about right for craps. I've seen $10 there at all hours, and I imagine they bump it up to $15 if the place gets really busy (which is what all the casinos in town do), but I haven't personally seen it that high.
