I don't think our Ponderosa was open in 1973 it was only a couple yrs old when I started there (this was in Small town Canada aka same city where Gaggles n Macker are from )

love that decor too! My parents had a gold shag rug and a lamp like that but was 3 round fixtures lol

as for steak houses, the Sizzler i worked at before Red Lobster eventually became a Hooters, or as we called IT and my sister's friend who worked there "False Advertising".

seriously I am all for meets when I'm on a solo trip but it just doesn't seem to ever work out when there are over 1.5 of us to coordinate.
