Made it to the good old ABQ, birthplace of Vegasworm. :D

Vegas is obviously not out of my system. I have half a mind to head down the road to Sandia Casino. I haven't played there in years. I'm already looking forward to our July Vegas trip...been talking plans as we drove.

Going to crack open the good old bar and mix me up a drink before posting another trip segment. I still consider myself on vacation until Olive's wheels hit our driveway tomorrow.

Then... My mom called to discuss the countertops she chose for her kitchen renovation. Now I need a refill.

Walking over to Cracker Barrel in about 30 minutes, so I'm going to try to crank out our Cirque show.

    Wednesday, 03/16/22 (continued - Part 2)

After our late lunch, we made our way towards Mirage for our 7pm showing of Cirque du Soleil's Beatles LOVE. This would be V and I's third time to see the show and the girls second.

Poor G was pretty miserable with allergies that day. We stopped at Starbucks at Bellagio to get her some green tea. This was also when I got my giant CVS receipt for buying cough drops.

Here are some pictures from our walk down to Mirage.

Yes, I want to remember even the bathrooms. Not sure what to expect once Hard Rock takes over.

V and I honeymooned at Mirage in June 1999. This was our first trip to Las Vegas. My bankroll was $200!!!

I know things don't last forever, but somehow I thought the good old Mirage would be around longer. We decided to see Beatles LOVE again in case they ditch the show after the takeover.

Really glad that V and I spent a night at the Mirage on our 20th anniversary trip in 2019.

Okay, the family is hangry, so we're going to go eat and I'll post more after dinner.

As I mentioned, we had all seen Beatles LOVE before. I believe all children should cut their teeth on the Beatles White Album, and that's exactly what our kids did. We are all HUGE Beatles fans.

The first time the girls saw the show, we made sure they sat in the part of the audience that is under the giant sheet. This time, I bought tickets the day of and in the nosebleed section.

Here's what the po' people's seats cost.

    Screenshot_20220316-153630_Gallery.jpg

So expensive for five after all the fees. Cheaper than the KISS concert tickets we bought for the December 2021 Vegas residency though (it was cancelled). Cheaper than X-Pot too. Ha!

The cool thing about being up high is that we had a bird's eye view of things we didn't see before. We were the first row of the last section, so we could lean forward and look over the ledge. However, I still prefer the lower mid-section seats.

Those of you who have read previous reports know I'm a souvenir picture junkie. We gladly posed for them going in. (*More on this later. I embarrassed the girls when buying them for calling out the photographer on his shoddy photography skills.)

Of course we needed to buy some overpriced concession snacks for the show. 3 popcorns, 3 sodas, 1 Fiji water, 1 large cocktail for E, and 1 small cocktail for V later, I made a Vegas faux pas. Those snacks equaled one Benjamin, and I accidentally hit the 15% tip button instead of no tip. I was planning to tip a few bucks in the tip jar. Instead, the popcorn scooper/bartender got $15. Ouch! :poke:

FYI - Just like the pools, they are still out of souvenir cups. You just get a plain plastic cup.

    20220316_185534.jpg
    I enjoyed a Strawberry Fields.

    20220316_184318.jpg

V was boring and got a Vodka and Soda. Not worth a picture.

Apparently, I really am going deaf. I thought the pre-show announcement said "No Flash Photography". Seriously, I did! After the show, the girls big time chastised me for taking pictures and videos. Hey, I saw an old man film the whole show. I just did short clips of the show and my family enjoying it.

Here are some of my forbidden photos. At least I didn't use the flash. :p

We love, love, love LOVE! So glad we saw it again. There were some changes from the last time in 2016 (2014 before that), but a lot was how we remember it.

    20220316_224935.jpg
H is a percussionist in the school band, so she bought some themed drumsticks.

    20220316_225536.jpg

    Now about those souvenir pictures...

Of course I bought all of them to the tune of $106. So what's the problem? Well, see below.

    20220319_080938.jpg

    20220319_080846.jpg

    20220319_081054.jpg

Do you see it in the last two pictures? The guy had a digital camera, and I saw him look at the shots after he took them. So how the heck do you not center us on the photo mat so that you don't capture the sides? For the price of these pictures I ragged him about it and said I wanted a discount. He was a young guy (and nice) and he agreed they were poorly shot, but he said the company wouldn't let him do discounts. I kind of get it since it's that Cashman Photos which I guess is a third party. So what did I do? Of course I bought them as you can see! :poke: But photo guy didn't get a $15 tip like popcorn guy. I was extra careful pressing buttons this time. :p

I forgot to mention in the previous LOVE post that as usual, I had to go to the bathroom mid-show. My pathetic bladder never makes it through a show or movie. Well, this required a bit of rat maze navigating and backtracking all in semi-darkness with audience members all around. I did it though! I must have started a trend because once I was back in my seat, I noticed about 6 other people from our section return to their seats after me. Trend setter Vegasworm! :headbang:

I had made an 8:45pm reservation at Osteria Costa at Mirage. V and I ate here in 2019 and enjoyed it. It was close to the LOVE theater, so we went straight there after perusing the gift shop and buying the souvenir photos.

I ordered a cocktail that I loved the first time V and I ate here. I have made it at home several times since.

    20220316_210856.jpg
Lemon Cocktail for E. So good! I ordered a second one later.

    20220319_225811.jpg

    20220316_210902.jpg
    Old Fashioned for V

V and I shared an entree and added some appetizers and sides.

    20220316_214740.jpg
Shrimp Alfredo for E and V (this was the special).

    20220316_212108.jpg
Meatball Appetizer (Love the whipped ricotta that's served with this.)

    20220316_212101.jpg
    Fried Mozzarella Appetizer

    20220316_214723.jpg
Brussels Sprouts (I didn't enjoy this as much. I love Brussels sprouts, but these had tons of golden raisins cooked with it that just didn't complement the dish and instead overwhelmed it)

    20220316_214714.jpg
    Spaghetti and Meatballs for H

    20220316_214719.jpg
    Shrimp Scampi for S

    20220316_214751.jpg
    Margherita Pizza for G

    20220316_205822.jpg
    Poor G not feeling well.

    20220316_222541.jpg
    Tipped $40.00 for a total of $258.92.

The final post for this day will be our walk back that night. Hope to get that done tomorrow some time, and the rest plus wrap-up after we get home.

FINALLY got enough time to read it all.

    Another great trip report!

I have an engineering background, and I'm slobby. Lol

Yeah that was me for about a ~month when Illinois had an online sportsbetting monopoly.

    Screenshot_20220320-043207_BetRivers IL.jpg

Because once competition began, I've been a promo whore ever since. Now here is me tossing down a huge bet for being a new member of Caesars Superbook because I got a free bet for $1100 if it lost.

    Screenshot_20220310-032613_Caesars Sportsbook.jpg

Fortunately, I "hedged" that losing bet significantly.

He could do similar things in Colorado. *coughs*

IIRC I saw a neglected Hennessy flask and maybe some Grand Marnier that calls for a sugared rim sidecar when you get home,
also I don't want to spoil it, but
I just spied a Creepy Vegas Friends icon on somebody, tee, hee:p....
    (reveal yourself! .....)
this will carry on for eternity,
like your kids later realizing how damn cool these trips were.
with pics and stories that documented it all,.

if they somehow become creepy Vegas Degens,
    may they get huge handpays..

also I wouldn't doubt someone with photoshop skills could slightly improve your bogus photos.

The Vegasworm Family is dragging on the final leg of the trip. :snore: Trying to rally the troops to awaken for the drive home. Everyone is crashed, so I'm going to add my final post for Wednesday, 03/16 of our trip.

We timed it perfectly for weather this trip. We left right after a big snowstorm hit Colorado and we're arriving back before a snowstorm hits tomorrow. We all enjoyed the warmer (but not too hot) weather Vegas offered.

Once we're home, the final post I want to cover is our St. Patrick's Day meals at Rí Rá Irish Pub and Tender Steakhouse plus a final summary and responses. Didn't mean for this trip report to go off the LIVE rails, but I'm determined to finish it, even after the fact.

    Wednesday, 03/16/22 (Final Segment)

After we finished up dinner at Osteria Costa, we started to make our way back to Luxor. We had perfect timing as we caught the last volcano show of the night at 11pm. During the walk to Mirage, it had gotten windy, so I wondered if it might be canceled that evening. The winds had died down though and the crowds weren't bad, so we had a good view.

    20220316_230418.jpg

    20220316_230459.jpg

We stood at the end and could still feel the enormous heat from the flames. I had forgotten how hot it is. Glad we saw this relic, since it will eventually be no more.

G was feeling super puny at this point. She was teary and asking if we could Uber back instead of walk. The wait for an UberXL was over 15 minutes, so I told her to just start walking and I would try again as we came across other casinos.

I then remembered that I needed to stop off at CVS to add more feminine products to the arsenal (that wasn't enough) that we had brought. So, I told G once we made it to Caesars that I would stick she and V in a cab or order them an Uber, and the rest of us would walk.

Here are H and S waiting for me to look up Uber times/prices as we passed the alcoves by Caesars Palace Forum Shoppes.

    20220320_080536.jpg

These are the same alcoves where a bunch of homeless people stayed nice and dry, while V and I huddled in a wicked thunderstorm against the exposed wall last summer. We got a chuckle recalling that memory. If you didn't read about that the first time around, you can find it here.
    https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/vegasworms-the-world-is-yours-trip-report-live-7-8-7-15-nomad.185707/page-26

Well, as things tend to go, G just dragged along with us. Lucky she did because we timed it beautifully and caught a Fountain Show! Icing on the cake is that it was to Old Blue Eyes singing "Fly Me to the Moon". Again, the crowds were thin and didn't affect our viewing.

    20220316_233154.jpg

Poor G, she really powered through that night and walked the whole way with us. We gave her some allergy meds and ibuprofen back in the room, and she did feel a bit better the next morning.

Our final stop (no pictures) was for overpriced feminine products at CVS. $22 and two boxes later, we were out of there. My receipt was shorter this time. LOL.

I think I'm going to don this costume and join the circumcision protesters over the taxation of female supplies. Now that is just wrong!

    c7fd0ebd174259071d29aea13a5caea1.jpg

There were a lot more vulgar costume images out there, but I'm not going for the shock factor like the winkie crowd. I just believe in no taxes on twat supplies!

    :soapbox::soapbox::soapbox:

A tired bunch made it to Luxor and was in bed about 1am. We had one more full day in Vegas to go.

The husband half of the couple we frequently go to Vegas with went on a Vegas golf trip with his brothers several years ago. They went to Love. He required the facilities during the show, got himself lost trying to make his way back to the theatre and somehow took an Exit door that led outside and it locked. He had no idea where he was out there, banged on the door hoping someone would hear and open it and was finally rescued by a Mirage employee that was hauling out trash. By the time he got back to the theatre, the show was almost over smh. None of his brothers even thought to go look for him. That wouldn’t happen in a group of girlfriends or sisters lol. They’d be on the hunt for the missing person.

Well done @Vegasworm! You successfully incorporated “hooded warrior” and “no taxes on twat supplies” in the same TR. Next time I’m out when your crew is, I’m buying you and your hubby a round for sure. Again, well done!

    Sincerely,

I can totally see this happening @breanna61! It was very disorienting and not intuitive. I found myself going up stairs, then down stairs, then back up stairs, than back down again until I finally found the restrooms. Getting back to my seat was no better. You need to leave a trail of breadcrumbs!

I am surprised I didn't end up like your friend. :haha: And you're correct, a group of girls would totally have sent out a search and rescue party. :D

@Vegasworm , you have a lovely looking family. You, and more specifically your hubby are in trouble in the (near) future.

I'll be looking forward to future trip reports from you. You have a family of five but I can see how the food bills add up!
