I’m making another solo trip to Vegas in April after a 14 month hiatus. The only thing I can think of that’s new in Vegas since then is Resorts World, which I plan to check out. I’m looking for ideas for attractions or places I’ve never been to. I’ve done all the day trips I can think of, Death Valley, west and south rim of the Grand Canyon, Red Rock, Valley of fire etc. AFAIK I’ve done all the traditional tourist things in Vegas, Mob Museum, Area 15 etc. I’ve done around 20 trips to Vegas, half solo. While I still love Vegas for the atmosphere, what seems like better gaming vs AC, and the overall vibe, I do try and get in at least one new thing each trip. Last trip in February 2021 was Area 15.

looking forward to all the suggestions, even though I’m a Vegas veteran, I still get valuable advice here.

You didn't mention the Neon Museum so I would add that to the list if you haven't been, including the Brilliant Show.

Also, it's a quick stop but still on my own To Do list is visiting Seven Magic Mountains, ideally at sunrise or before sunset for some great pics. It's on my to do list to take some pics with my mother when we are there in April as well. https://sevenmagicmountains.com/

Wow, my first response, a place I never went to. It’s been on my list of places to try, and I’ll probably do so this trip. Part of off strip trips is just rolling through the desert, especially when there’s no other cars around, it’s like it’s only you in the world, temporarily of course.

    Thanks.

Springs Preserve. I'm a huge fan and a member and it's less than 15 minutes from the strip. You can spend as little as an hour there or all day there and I believe in April the butterfly exhibit will be back. Next to it is the Nevada State Museum.

Thanks. I’ve actually been to both. They were both cool, the Neon museum was part of a Mob museum combo ticket, so it was a nice way to spend the afternoon. Plus it was one of the trips the wife came along on, as she loves all things mob related, seen all the mob movies etc.

That’s a place I’ve thought about, but I usually go in the warmer months, and I hate the heat lol. This trip the weather should be perfect, so I’ll put this in the list. Thanks.

    Keep the ideas coming.

There's no mention of shows in the original post. Seen them all?

Was Grand Canyon by helicopter? If not, consider the helicopter trip over LV. There's also Fly Over Las Vegas, a virtual attraction.

Ethel M chocolate factory and cactus garden.

    People enjoy Area 15

Yes, the April weather will be perfect. I was there last summer and enjoyed it but it was HOT!

Agree 100% and also a great outdoor activity with respect to the garden, given the mild April weather.

I know you said you visited Area 15, but I think the Lost Spirits Distillery tour has opened since your last visit. My friends and I really wanted to go this past December but after our drinks at Omega Mart and The Beast we didn't make it. Looks really fun and unique if you're into what they offer!

Tell me about the better gaming in Vegas compared to AC. Do you mean the prevalence of 6:5 BJ?

Personally for me it’s better. I haven’t came home with more money than I came with in AC since 2001. I typically go to AC for 1-2 nights, being $400-800 to play with, and I’ll usually lose between half or all of it. Since that time I’ve had a few wins in Vegas, I do go for longer trips, and bring a $500 a day budget. My worst trip I lost half my entire bankroll. I don’t play blackjack, just slots, craps, some roulette, and a few baseball bets it it’s in season.

Not exactly new since then, but Knights games, both the games themselves, and the surrounding events (March to the Fortress, the watch parties, etc.).

Have you been to Techatticup Mine in ElDorado Canyon? China Date ranch? Snow Canyon? Cathedral Gorge? None of these are new but obscure enough that most people haven't been to them.

Cathedral Gorge yes, the others, never actually heard of them, I’ll look into it. I don’t care if it’s new, as long as it’s new to me lol.

Pinball Hall of Fame is at new location just North of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. Much bigger space, tons of machines. Great low-cost entertainment if it's up your alley.

If you're into cars (especially Shelby Mustangs), check out the Shelby Heritage Center. They have free tours and it's not too far off the south end of the strip.

There are a few places where you can take laps in an exotic car or muscle car.

Or you can race electric go carts...

Take a drive out to Primm Nevada and check out Bonnie & Clyde's car which is displayed at Whiskey Pete's Hotel/Casino.

Visit the winery in Pahrump and take a tour. They also have a restaurant which is pretty good, but I haven't been out there, since the pandemic started so check there website for more info before going.
