So... Would things improve if they got out of the hotel business by having someone like Hilton take over? Seems like that's already the trend. They can get some (more) quick cash to invest in sports betting/online gambling.

Hilton doesn't even run their hotels...most chain hotels are licensed franchises, just like Resorts World. The quality of the hotel varies with the quality of the operating franchise.

I have no horse in the race since my gambling doesn't warrant much in comps to begin with and I don't even frequent the strip. I assume the elite players are still taken care of and screw the rest. Maybe they're banking on that vast sea of uninformed that doesn't know to care. What other reason would have you treat loyal customers this way?

Eh, there are plenty of free rooms/etc. if you're willing to lose a few hundred a day. It's just that I wouldn't expect much if your budget is $300 for a 4 day trip, and you shouldn't expect a host if you're only generating $400 a day of theo. The comps also vary with the quality of the property - MLife is comping you at Excal before it's comping you at Aria.

I’m not well-versed on all things CETdorado but I have really enjoyed this thread. One question though. What happens on February 1, 2022? Just curious as a non-CETdorado patron. Thanks….

We all become zeros. Time to reevaluate if we want to do the work for status. No more extensions unless the pandemic rages on...

Lot of diamond and seven stars cards will turn to gold. ElDorado is King Midas, apparently. People whose benefits were nullified and quit playing there wont have the TC to maintain status. Barring some miracle, Im in that boat. Had 35,000 TC last full year, currently sitting at about 1,750 on this year from my single 2 night stay, and no plans to get more.

Everyone’s tier status changes for the new year. My sense is there will be far fewer Diamonds, and Seven Stars after that date. I know two Seven Stars who have one TC and don’t plan to get anymore. My status will be reduced. Probably there will many more.

I spent 2 nights at Ballys last week. I was upgraded to a Celebrity Suite. It was massive! Never stayed in a room that big before. I found out when checking in that one of the ladies that's been there a really long time said that Sat was going to be her last day. She'd had enough of the new management and enough of the rude, unruly guests. She apologized for having to put a hold on my card, but she said they come in and tear up the rooms, so it's required by corporate now.

As nice as the room was, the casino was a different story. It was sweltering in the casino the entire time I was there. I usually spend a lot of time in the casino where I stay, but I just couldn't this time. I'm normally very cold natured, but I couldn't even stand to sit there and play. I complained in the diamond check in one night and shortly after that it got a tiny bit better, but not much. The last day I actually saw a manager on the floor and asked him why it was so hot. He said he thought it was too, but didn't answer my question. He was a big guy, and had a short haircut. I could see sweat dripping down his scalp and on his forehead and told him I noticed he's sweating too. He still didn't give me any indication that he could or would do anything about it.

I know another lady works there that I didn't see until my last day. I asked her about why it was so hot. She said that management has said that the air is to be set at a certain temp and not below. She said it's been like that all summer and it's so miserable that she and some coworkers were getting together and going to HR about it.

Now, this must be coming from the GM of that particular property. It was that way at Paris, too and I know they're managed jointly. I spent time at all of the CET casinos except Caesars and only Paris and Ballys was like this. Ballys is home base for me, but I won't stay there again until this is corrected.

"Well, of all the cheap lousy ways to save a buck!"

Before you know it, Eldorado will be giving away memberships to the Jelly of the Month Club.

That's right. They don't deserve to be called Caesars right now.

Eldorado is the 7th company to acquire the parent company of Caesars Palace believing they can generate value by exploiting the "Caesars" name:
    1969: Clifford and Stuart Perlman
    1995: ITT Sheraton
    1997: Starwood
    2000: Hilton Hotels/Park Place Entertainment
    2005: Harrah's Entertainment
    2008: Apollo Global/TPG
    2020: Eldorado Resorts

As a result, the fading "Caesars" cachet no longer has any excess value to exploit, and arguably is now a negative.

Eldorado has absolutely "killed it" with these cheap stories...I feel so sorry for the employees who work so hard for them.

To be fair, at worst its a negative for people that have spent significant time there and at other casino resort (so they can compare). To the average consumer out there who is not a vegas enthusiast, its still a well known and regarded brand name. If they can get those people interested in visting a casino resort, the CP name helps them with that market segment

I’ve stated that the Ceasar properties on the Strip are now the third tier (1st - Resorts, Cosmo, Wynn, Aria, Belagio. 2nd - MLife. 3rd CET). Now it sounds like CET is third world. Bally’s - no a/c, no restaurants. What’s next - melted water in place of ice cubes.

The brand is also going to be bigger than ever. Ads during football games. Dare I say Superbowl? Naming rights on Stadiums. Sportsbooks all over the world.

Doesn't mean it'll be better for in person casinos or non sports betting games but time will tell.

I think I considered them mostly 3rd tier before merger, but with Caesars Palace being an exception and somewhat competitive with 1st tier, at least in the Laurel towers,, and PHo, Paris, and to some extent Ballys, being as good as tier 2's middle tier, but none of those is the case any more. I think their entire portfolio no longer stands alone on tier 3 island either, as they've lowered themselves, in my opinion, to being in serious competition with the likes of TI, Tropican, Sahara, etc, and those latter three still have some values to be found in rooms and or dining and or especially gaming. I'd still strongly prefer them over Circus Circus or the Casino Royale Best Western, but I cant think of another legitimate strip property than those two that I still feel like is *worse* than them now. And just personal preference here, but I'd go with TI over them if I was booking a trip today and had similar offers.

eh, I think that's pushing it...I agree CET has much less at the high end, they've always been more focused on what I'll call 3 star hotels than 4.5-5 star joints. But it's not like Paris is behind Luxor, Excal, or NYNY in terms of room quality, amenities, etc.

CET sinned in the 2010s and really downgraded P Ho and Paris when they were out of money. Those two should have held up as 4 star joints. And they killed Ballys with that mall.

When you look at the average room rate at Mirage or Park MGM vs. Flamingo, though...it seems like being in the muddy middle between the true high end places (V/P, Wynncore, Aria, Bellagio, etc.) and the good enoughs like Harrahs or NYNY is tough.

I really hope Eldorado has someone reading these type of comments (not that it would make a difference)

most large companies do have social media/internet search teams that report back to marketing on things like reviews, blog posts, etc. They want to know when they are trending, what is showing up in google searches, and in major sources of information.

You're more likely to get read posting at somewhere like TripAdvisor, though, than a random forum.

With the recent room remodeling Luxor has done I don't think they are as far apart as they were a few years ago. Housekeeping is definitely better at Luxor, thought the floor felt cleaner and better maintained.
I guess Paris is adding the Vanderpumps and (maybe) MS - Snoopdog 'joint' if one considers those improvements. Still think the Paris common areas and floor could use an extreme makeover.
