I have had a few gf's over the years try to get me hooked on coffee because they were. The first one tried and by the end what I was getting could only be considered coffee by the widest definition possible. Was there coffee in it? Sure. Was it more like something that someone accidently spilled a little coffee in to as they walked by, yes.

I'm sorry that they were insensitive to your needs. Maybe the sensitivity improve.

I could care less about most of these other than more cocktail waitresses. But I don't want to pull my phone out every time I want a drink.

Not sure why coffee should be free but other drinks not free. I don't like coffee but love other things.

    Staffing is the issue
Couple observations from my April and May trips:
1.There were two windows open at the cage even in prime time.
Pre pandemic there were 4-5 open and the wait was usually minimal.
In May, the line occasionally had 20+ people waiting.

2.Tried calling the Sky Suites concierge from my room several times.
After 10- 15 min I hung up with no answer. The hotel operator was about the same.
Just called SS concierge from home about dining reservations for upcoming trip.
    No answer !!
Host took care of it but I don't like to bother him with stuff I can easily take care of online. Unfortunately ,online showed no availability several restaurants.

3.With more restaurants opening, it should improve but the lines at the Patisserie went back to Alibi late at night .
Really hope they get this figured out soon.

Depending when I stroll downstairs in the morning, I always found it quicker to get an coffee (or irish coffee) at the slots. Not the point of your post I realize though.

I just stayed at Aria for the first time earlier this month, and I will say that, given the level of property that Aria is supposed to be, I was very surprised as to how infrequent the drink service was.

I'm hoping this was a lingering effect of the pandemic and temporary staffing issues, rather than the norm...

Unfortunately it varies from shift to shift. I've been at the tables and had someone bringing me a ginger ale every ten minutes. I've also spent an hour waiting for a refill.

Are they using glasses again or just plastic cups? I could not stand that at Aria.

I believe that most or all of my mixed drinks on the casino floor were in plastic.

They were plastic the other week. I'm not really too particular about what my ginger ale comes in.

At the beginning, it was a hygiene thing, but at this point I think it's a combination of environmental concerns (despite glass being reusable, it takes a lot of energy to clean them, and the plastic can be recycled), and safety (plastic can't break, after all!).

I’m going to Aria next month and while I get the concern with glassware, it cheapens the experience to use plastic. This isn’t the Flamingo or something- it’s the second highest hotel in their portfolio. Hopefully the staffing changes to handle this, but I am trying to lower my expectations about service, wait times, etc.

Drinks in plastic cups is going to dumb down any casino/bar/restaurant experience in my eyes.

Just came back last week from 5 nights at Aria and I'm doubtful that I'll be staying there any time soon again. Casino staffing is poor. Rooms are really showing age, not up to a 5-star standard anymore. Many food venues closed during the day even on Sunday and what was open was so packed you couldn't get in. Monday night 3/4 of the slot machines on the entire floor were down and I consistently had machines all week that were slow to load Mlife or didn't accept the card at all. Taxi line was a sick joke. Constantly a line 10 people deep and sporadic cabs, was forced many times to trudge all the way over the bridge to Cosmo's valet to get a cab.

I would have spent a lot more time/money on site had it been a working resort. It felt like it was about 1/2 working. In no way lived up to the "best MGM resort" title.

the Plaza style plastic cups with sharp edges in Cosmo rooms really grinds my gears.

I agree with your assessment of the wear showing on the rooms. 75% of the machines had been down during the day on Tuesday as well. I also had issues with the WiFi both Monday night and Tuesday. Luckily, I can use my phone and take a break from work but still. My room had multiple issues this trip including broken blackout drapes, a non-working desk phone, and a tablet that wouldn't charge, some that maintenance was able to resolve but not all. I still found housekeeping and bell staff to be excellent, My dinner at Julian Serrano was up to the usual level of service. I was not approached by a cocktail waitress once in four days, however. I filled out the guest survey but I've received no response. I doubt I will stay at Aria again.
