    Hey All...

I have a few questions which I'm sure have been asked a MILLION times before but I might as well ask. I may be going to Vegas in March so I need HELP on the Palace Station.

I have never stayed at the Palace and I just want a decent place to sleep and play else where,-maybe there if the Blackjack is cheap, so here goes.

#1. What level, room, side is the best or for me the quietest??? I don't mind hallway traffic and noise but help me out with a single person-nonsmoking-quiet room.

#2. Being I've never stayed there fill me in on the Pro's and Con's of the Palace Station and anything else you might think that I need to know.

    Thanks

When they put in 6/5 blackjack at the $5/$10 tables two or three years ago, that was the end of playing there. The elevator is midway between the ends, so you’re not walking what seems like forever as you would at South Point, Excalibur or Paris to mention a few examples. There’s no quiet or noisy side to speak of, but if the morning sun bothers you, a room with southern exposure might be a bother, but they do have the type of window treatments that block most of that out.

Can anybody confirm they have table games up and running? Specifically craps/blackjack at either $5 or $10.....even if the blackjack is damn 6/5

All the rooms were completely redone two years ago. Very clean. Easy parking, to checkin, to room, to casino access.

Call them directly and talk to the hotel check in people. The price will go down. You should be able to get a nicer suite for a reasonable amount. Talk to them about your level of play also, and they might transfer you over to a host. My experience has always been their offers are not really their best offers until you call, and I believe this also holds true for room rates.

It's cleaned up a lot, both rooms and casino. The food choices are very good for a slightly off-strip casino. If it's crowded, cigarette smoke could be an issue. I didn't notice this the last several time I've been there. The pool is nice enough, and that area has also been redone.

If you play enough and want to go to the strip, they'll bring you there. They will also bring you to other Stations casinos, so if you wanted to go the Red Rock for dinner, they'd do this.

It's easy access to anywhere if you have a car. It is also located in an area that in addition to strip access, gives you a very easy ride to some very good restaurants that people don't normally make it to.

I can't speak to any games except baccarat.

I like it a lot. There is another poster on here who is a huge fan of WynnCore, and she (based on her posts) agrees with a lot to this. Hopefully if she sees this, she can add more. The point is that if someone who is a regular WynnCore person also frequents PS, that speaks pretty loudly about no huge unpleasant surprises at PS.

So do they actually have a limo or shuttle that takes you to the other properties and is it on a schedule?

At least one limo and at least one shuttle. I'm not familiar with the shuttle, but I believe it is on schedule and goes to the airport and Fashion Mall area. I'm not sure if the limo is on schedule. I am sure if you play enough, the limo will take you wherever you want to go without a schedule. Playing enough there is relative, and probably player specific.

Last report I have is 2/5. Craps was $10 during the week and $15 on the weekend. Would love some updated info.

Yep, that's me and agree 100%. I'm a big Palace Station fan. I love the Bingo room, mixture of decent to great VP games at various denoms, from nickels to dollars, food options (Oyster Bar is a STANDOUT but the main fine dining restaurant and cafe are very good as well), and it has a great selection of slot machines. And yes, the renovations and significant physical expansion of the property IMO were very well done. Outdoors there's a decent pool and even cabanas as well as a concert space. Rooms are very nice. I play there most trips with a quick Lyft or rental car ride or shuttle from FSM (which is super convenient as it is across the street from Wynncore).

Bumping a few week old thread...likely coming out in June 95% sure (if I secure a flight), and have offers at multiple places, we loved playing at Palace on the last trip Oct 2019 for one day and planned MM 2020 there but something got in the way.

Have a decent offer to stay here, and can get a second room for my pal not much more...Is the vibe still lively but chill? I found the staff and patrons to be super nice and the drinks flowing at least at the VP bars...I have always stayed either DT or strip, but my Cosmo offer is 4x the price, Park MGM is about the same, but as a VP player, the VP at palace, at least in 2019 was better; and Craps likely better at Palace too ($10?)

Is it still a "bang for your buck" kind of place?

Absolutely. Still a great place and IMO one of the best values for price and quality in all of Vegas. I spent a couple of days there over the course of my recent trip.

I'd say yes. It's maybe a $12.00 UBER ride to Cosmo, so that works for you. Probably less to downtown. The food choices are decent. The pool area is decent. I'd agree with the personality of the staff.

I'm not sure what your situation with a rental car is, but you are located where you could get to a couple of classic places very easily. Flaming bananas foster for one.

did you happen to take a casual survey of the table limits? How bout VP? Still 9/5 DDB for 25c at the bars? I hear 6/5 Blackjack now. Ugh

how is the Sushi spot there? what about the Korean Spot next door.
I want to get to Herbs and Rye just down the street.
What else is in the vicinity?

Didn't see table limits but I have a high level of confidence that you can find 3:2 there for under $25. I know they used to have as low as $5 but not sure of the status now.. Definitely good VP can still be found there though I'm not sure about the bar VP specifically.

I'm not a sushi person, so can't answer that.

Biwon? I've not been, but @DaiLun might have some experience, and would probably be happy to answer.

Herb and Rye is good. Organic, sustainable steaks is not something I'd normally order, but I was pleasantly surprised. I wanted a side of pasta and red sauce, and they made one appear, so it was a decent dinner. I liked the atmosphere also. Not world class, but very good, and affordable. A pleasant experience.

The Oyster Bar has a decent selection of oysters for $2.00, and a decent pan roast. People rave about their pan roast.

The steak place is adequate. The atmosphere is traditional. If you're looking for Bazaar Meats, this isn't it. If you're looking for a decent steak and decent atmosphere, this place checks all the boxes.

    The breakfast selection is adequate.

The quick slice of pizza place is more than a quick slice of pizza place. The gentleman that started it has won some world pizza championships fwiw. I've met him. This is him: https://www.tonygemignani.com/restaurants/pizza-rock-las-vegas/
Yes, he's the Pizza Rock dude. He's been known to be there, but I wouldn't count on it. I think he's a California guy, and I think most of his places are there. For a California guy, he makes a very good NY style.

Across the interstate is Golden Steer. It's not world class, but it is a place I think everyone needs to go to at least once. It has some history. And it has flaming bananas foster. The steaks are decent, not world class, but you really don't go there for world class food. Local movers and shakers hang out there. At least they used to. I've dined with both Oscar Goodman and one of the Fertitta's there. It was their choice, not mine, if you want to read anything into that.

You're 12-15 minutes away from the Italian American Club of LV. Again, not world class, but classic.

In the same strip mall as Golden Steer is a bar with video poker, with about as good of paybacks as you're going to get that close to the strip. Also a cigar lounge. That place is frequented by boxing judges. If you're a boxing fan, and especially if there is boxing the time you're there that you want to bet on, that's a required stop. Unless you hate cigars. Then you might need to mask up to get the inside scoop.

A very good Thai place down the road. A very decent sake bar down the road.

So it's a nice place, for a nice price. And not unimportant, pretty close to both the strip and downtown if you want to gamble, dine, or see a show off site.

According to the Bell Desk, Strip Shuttle service is set to resume some time in June.

That was @fenway68 with all of the additional info but glad to help. I just like the vibe of Palace Station and it is not-far from either the strip or downtown. For the latter the highway entrance to head DT is literally yards away. Haven't been there in a while but I think the coffee shop is decent as well. Plus there is a movie theater there that even if not reopened will likely reopen soon.

And in the meantime, when I was there I saw Palace Station-branded jeeps that were clearly there to take people different places though they were more likely used for airport runs. There's was a free shuttle to and from the airport as well, which will also hopefully resume in June.
