Sometimes I feel we have taken the great memories this town has provided and forgot them, or taken them for granted. Do you ever sit back and think on them? Lucky for me, I have a drive where I keep all photos. I look back to June 2012 when I first started going. When I look back, it’s amazing how much I’ve forgotten.

We talk about some great times in Vegas a lot as we ready for our next trip. Sometimes we do tend to take them for granted, but we usually snap back to how amazing our trips have been!

We had a HUGE run of trips going in the '00s for a number of years, and we can't possibly keep them all distinct but it was an amazing run, and Vegas was still magical and mesmerizing to a degree we no longer feel. Still enjoy the place, but, man, that was some run!

My most favorite memories are objectively the crappiest ones. Reminds me of being young and dumb. Now I'm just old and dumb. See also, the evening I spent in the back part of a minivan eating an entire pizza by myself in the parking lot of a motel while my friend was with his girlfriend. That remains one of the best meals of my life.

We have such awesome memories ..... one of my ultimate memory is (kinda crazy) but it has to be we were there during shut down last year in March (literally) it was so hectic and cray but definitely sad .... seeing closed restaurants and stores were unreal, never thought those days would come by. Anyhow, planning going back on June 1st since last year so we are really looking forward to it!!!

Oh sure. My Google Photos album is 90% Vegas stuff. It's fun to look back at those and remember the context of those trips. I remember the weather, the resorts and bars I was at, and hopefully see the pics of the handpays I won (not frequent).

I reminisce about the days of getting two free buffet coupons at Gold Coast on Young at Heart day all the time. ;)

Absolutely I do. In fact, about once every month or two I'll go read one of my own old TRs from start to finish when I'm in the doldrums about half way between trips and working hard and hating life, and I have magnitudes more photos than I've ever put here, and a lot of videos too, and I have an SSD I keep that has several gigabytes of mostly just pics and videos of my dogs and Vegas trips.

I love going through my old TRs to jog the memory. It's weird because I can look at just about any pic from years ago and I'll remember who I hung out with that day.

The worst memory I have from Vegas, and I remember all too vividly, happened about five years ago. I had an 11:00 am SWA flight home and I got to the airport about 8:00 am. This was the day that the SWA computer system crashed, nationwide, and I didn't leave the airport until 1:00 am the following morning. Our flight got cancelled around 3:00 pm and then I waited, in vain as it turned out, to get my luggage back at baggage claim until 1:00 am. 17 stress-filled hours at LAS was brutal. Took a cab to TI, went across the street to get some fresh underwear and socks at Walgreens and stayed at TI for three days until SWA's computer system came on line again. Had a blast at TI though.....

Oddly enough, I remember so much more from my early trips in the 80s than I do from my more recent trips where I need my TRs to help me out a bit.

I started to visit Vegas relatively late in my life. I first visited in 2005. I have been visiting at least once or twice a year ever since.

At times I would start at 2005 and try to remember the highlights and then move on to 2006, 2007, etc.

I could remember pretty well for the main part but nowadays it becomes a blur...

One of my great memories was eating at the Rio Seafood Buffet when it was at it's finest. Man, I love seafood and it was like being in heaven. I remember eating the fresh oysters and going up again and again to re-fill my plate and my wife was getting worried I was going to get sick.

I have a personal blog where I keep all of my Vegas trip reports with photos and videos dating back to ca. 2000. When I first started putting my blog together several years ago, compiling all of those old reports brought back some fond memories. Having everything consolidated also makes it easy to go back and reminisce on those old days. LOL I also have an external backup drive where I have even more of my photo, videos, etc. stored which aren't included in my blog.

I'm also a person who goes back and re-reads old TR. In fact, that is one of the reasons I make a point to do them.
Even after losing a majority of pictures, I know what was going on and love taking that trip down memory lane.

I constantly enjoy recalling Vegas memories (30ish years) many include friends and family who are no longer with us. Example, I also have great memories from the RIO Seafood Buffet, my late brother's favorite Vegas eatery, a couple of bachelor parties and some great 19th hole celebrations there. Poker/golf tourneys, UFCs, CESs, family/alumni reunions, more bach parties, concerts, shows, solo vacations, UNLV football, NASCAR, Super Bowl parties, NBA D-Leagues, tradeshows, etc... Never attended a Vegas wedding so still gotta do that. I hope to be still shooting craps and playing slots at The Cal when I'm 90 like my grandma and grandpa did.

I keep saying I should make a blog about my travels to Vegas and elsewhere. Or, some kind of diary that I (or my family) can look back and say 'I remember that trip'. I'm glad that I've done a few TR's here as well a some older ones on another site. Someday, when I'm gone I'd love for my kids and g-kids to read about my travels and say "WOW, she was a cool lady". LOL :D:p

Most of my repressed memories start out at the Mai Tai bar in the old Imperial Palace.

I have so many fond memories of Vegas back in the day.

I started going to Vegas in 1976 and got hooked. My parents lived there then.

One wild trip was when my girlfriend and I, took Amtak from Milwaukee to Vegas. Shows you all how old I am now. LOL

I miss the .99 cent steak and eggs, the Silver Slipper, and yes the Hilton where Elvis played.

New memories are waiting and that also is a good thing.

With every trip I take to LV, I go looking for a replay of my very first trip to LV back in the 1970s.

    I have not found it.

But I've had a great time looking for it! :)

My memories of Las Vegas always make me think about when I was in better health. I love thinking about my first trip to Vegas. It was one of the best times of my life. A totally new experience, with new sights, sounds and smells. I am so glad I have had the Las Vegas experience in my life, I will always cherish those memories.

As you might imagine after 110 Vegas trips, I have zillions of memories, mostly good ones, and reminisce constantly. While that's fun, I'm totally aware that I need to make new memories instead of reliving the old ones. Being away for the past 1 ½ years hasn't helped, nor have the memories from dozens of trips with ex-girlfriend. Looking forward making new memories soon.

My best friend and I would reminisce about trips before and after they moved to LV. On our summer golf trips, newbies would tag along each year. This was fodder for many stories. Of course, the more trips you make, the more memories. This leads to my only regret regarding LV. I wish I had made a simple journal about my trips from day one. It would be nice to look back on all those trips.
