I am going to miss this place. But the trip is not yet over! Just feeling a tad sad but grateful as well.

Waiting for my car. I decided to keep my date at Esther's Kitchen. It's going going to be a light meal but an experience I hope nevertheless.

Oh man, I am so glad I decided to power through and keep my reservation. Thirty years of visiting Vegas and I am about to order a cocktail in the Arts District for the very first time (though my early visits to Vegas pre-date this district).

The pods outdoors were set up because of Covid. The person who seated me said it can get 30 degrees hotter in here during the day but now, well, it's perfect as there is a natural breeze plus a portable fan blowing on me.

I even love the flowers. They remind me of Springs Preserve.

Wow. What a night. This would be another good night to sleep outside. :)

My waitress is very young but extremely knowledgeable. Impressive. Damn. I need long trips so I have enough time to eat everywhere I want to dine.

I can tell this is going to be an experience. My waitress said the LA Times did a half page article about the fried cauliflower, so I will try that.

I was going to try the OL Razzle Dazzle but she said, if I like avocado, to try the Guaca-Waka- Waka. Yes it contains avocado. I was skeptical but this drink is delicious.

The cocktail, wine, liquor and beer list is extensive. Impressive.

    Menus below. 20210510_192926.jpg 20210510_192452.jpg 20210510_192409.jpg 20210510_192428.jpg 20210510_192437.jpg 20210510_192433.jpg 20210510_192458.jpg 20210510_192510.jpg 20210510_192520.jpg 20210510_192527.jpg

One of my waiters lived in Brooklyn 13 years and moved out here in August at the suggestion of his brother who lives here. He said the Arts district reminds him a bit of parts of Brooklyn. He recommended a wine bar and a cocktail bar within two blocks as well.

I ordered three appetizers: the cauliflower; Gem Salad (which is their version of a Caesar that she said was the best); and the Carrot Gnudi.

The cauliflower? Yep, I could see why the LA Times raved about it. About to dig into the other two dishes.

Nevada Brew Works (about a 5 minute walk from there) is really good too!

I know I have gained at least five pounds, while in Vegas, like I am on a honeymoon, but I am single!

    Caesar salad was excellent.

I get why the LAT wrote about the cauliflower.

But, I literally ate the Carrot Gnudi with my eyes sometimes closed. It's all gone.

Bluewire will be a sports podcast studio - a sort of cross-promotion with WynnBet. Pretty savvy. Not sure if we'll overlap on the next trip as I may need to push to later in July. That said, I'd place a wager that we'll run into each other again before the year is up! Thanks for taking everyone along on the ride. Have a wonderful time in DV.

My waitress/the restaurant treated me to a taste of this Sicilian liquor. It has a very interesting taste but I like it. One of your liquor gurus will know all about it!

I feel like I just experienced fine dining in someone's backyard.

My bill for three appetizers and a cocktail was $59. Left this AWESOME waitress Liz a $20 cash tip.

With Milos for lunch and this place for dinner it just underscores you can have FANTASTIC food and service inexpensively, given what you are getting. I mean, a meal at McDonald's now can easily be $12.

Oh, and the music is awesome. It's like smooth music at someone's backyard house party.

    Bravo.

I meant to respond to your note about the Wynn Field Club. Wow. That it is called that is consistent with my host's description of it and the fact that the nightclub staff is going to run it tells me it is going to be awesome. I am really to be there for a game!!!

Oh, I think you and I ARE the dem and believe it is about providing a benefit for players. I don't think it is going to be "clubby" in the EBC or XS sense but those guys and gals who do run the clubs at Wynncore do know details and how to run an operation.

I'm a bit of a picky eater, I don't like a lot of meat or fish. However, when I ate at e I got the vegetarian menu and it was divine. I have never had so many truffles! In fact, my late partner preferred some of my vegetarian dishes to the dishes he had from the regular menu (which were still incredibly awesome).

Oooooo. They poured tastes of a couple different Amaros for me last time I was at Sparrow and Wolf. I had never had it before, but thought it was a very nice post-dinner sip. Especially the one infused with blueberry that was a bit less bitter. Glad you liked Esther's Kitchen - I've always had wonderful experiences here. And those "pods" look super nice.
