I always enjoy your TR's, and this one was just next level with the Mansion stay. Thanks for giving those of us who will likely never see it a peek into what it's like to stay there.

If you have more trips to share, certainly do. Always a good read.

This was great, but honestly the thing that's sticking with me is the offer to reopen the restaurant. Since they're staffed for room service anyway from the Mansion, I guess it's not that difficult for them, especially if the butler is acting as waiter. But still, just the optics of that idea is boggling my mind a bit.

Well, in covid times, I wasn't interested in sitting in a restaurant no matter the time of day. The restaurant has a separate staff. I did stop in there a couple times as I was walking by to order my breakfast or look at the menu. So I have no idea who would open the restaurant in the middle of the night if a guest requested it. But even if I felt safe sitting in the restaurant, I saw no reason to. I have eaten breakfast there a couple times in the past and its lovely, but the villa is perfect. The restaurant prepares the food, the butler staff brings it to the villa (which only takes a couple minutes longer it would to deliver the food to your table; so its still the right temperature), they set it up at a dining table that larger and nicer than the restaurant table, I can then eat while I listen to TV or play on my tablet or just sit in serene quietness while I eat, and I can walk out to the balcony after I eat and take in the atrium. The room was perfect for those meals. The Skylofts will also bring you food from any restaurant (excluding JR) and I have done that a couple times in the past. But its a whole different experience eating in the villa

I agree, and I suspect this is something where the room service staff and infrastructure is already in place, and it doesnt really require any more work by anyone, but makes their high value customers feel special (you know, like what difference does it make to them if the same person serves you the same stuff on a table in a different physical space, still cooking the same food and washing the same dishes and the same butler serving you).

Hmm and now I see it is a separate staff - that does make it sort of odd.

Also, I forgot to mention, when I checked in, they had a pineapple pound cake (like the kind they give you at the end of a meal at JR) sitting on the dining table in the villa. So it was nice to eat there and be able to slice off a piece of the cake for dessert when I was in the mood for it

Okay, if it really is a separate staff, even at like 3am, then my mind is back to being boggled :)

That said, totally makes sense what you're saying. With that setup and the service you describe, I don't really see a reason to go to a restaurant. I'm guessing the in room setup is not exactly eating out of a Styrofoam box :)

They want to keep him gambling .. it's all about convenience. Just like how certain employers cater free lunch/dinner.. keep people close to the job.

At least during the restaurant regular hours, its a separate staff. I have no idea who operates it if they re-open during normally closed hours. And yes, the set up for dining in the villa is very good. Basically, the butler brings your meal up on a room service cart, enters through the butler's pantry, sets up the table just as you would see at the restaurant, serves the food, and then comes back and cleans up after you are done eating. I ate enough times in the room that I should have given it a good restaurant name, like "Les Pantaloons Fancie"

Thanks for another great trip report. I've dived off that cliff often according to my budget. Glad you managed to get your losses back and a little over.

Great pics of the mansion. I've often walked by that roadway to MGM and never realized it was the entrance to the Mansion. This trip was so much better than your stay at MB. Again, awesome on the comeback.

I hope that JR opens up again. It would be sad if it is one of the casualities of the pandemic.

Think about the money these high rollers are throwing around... Just one bet on one hand of Baccarat is probably enough to cover the Mansion's cost of utilities and payroll for the entire staff for an hour or two. Multiply that by dozens of bets an hour, and multiple high rollers on property at a time, and it's no wonder they can afford to have everything open and fully staffed on a whim 24/7.

I *was* excited about my upcoming 2br deluxe suite at Luxor, partially for crowd avoidance, but right now they arent even delivering Le Café Pyramide to the room, so yah. Yours sounds better :kill:Love the name though; you should totally trademark it and it will become another of Vegas most exclusive experiences. Dine at Les Pantaloons Fancie, by invitation only, and only when UKFanatic is staying in a mansion villa.

That sounds wonderful. I live in humid Texas and coming to Vegas always dries me out. I've been here around 40 hours so far and my knuckles are dry and threatening to crack!

Sadly I'm two or three lifetimes away from a stay at the Mansions. Thanks to UKFanatic for the trip report!

I read an article last year that said JR plans to reopen its restaurants once capacity returns to normal. But I read that a while ago, so who knows

There are 1,2,3 and 4 Bedroom Mansions. The 3-4 Bedroom ones have their own indoor pools. The Mansion is for people who want privacy and traditional luxury and elegance. Basically those that already live in a mansion with staff. Skylofts appeals more to young money and is more accessable.

A good analogy would be Rolls Royce vs Bentley. Both are exceptional and expensive but Rolls Royce will always take the fancy crown even if just by a hair while the Bentley is nicer if you actually like driving.

Might stay in one this October for my birthday if Vegas is normal.
