Aruba and COVID

What a difference a few days makes with this virus. The CDC is now recommending not traveling to Aruba. Testing continues and the numbers are expected to rise. One nightclub in particular was packed with people and a shit storm followed.

My trip is the day after Thanksgiving, that hopefully will long enough for Aruba to get its arms around this. I can tell you we are definitely needing this vacation. While I like my Vegas and other trips. Aruba is our favorite Island, we love the friendly people, we love the variety of food, our resort is beautiful, the water is always calm, the weather is almost always the same with the breeze that comes. Yes, it rains occasionally but I'd rather be in Aruba in the rain than a whole lot of other places when its sunny.

 

It rarely rains in January. Here’s hoping things are looking up before @Nittany1 @snoopydogj snd @oghuman travel dates.

 

Aruba tested 829 residents yesterday and 119 were positive for COVID

 

My season is from May 1st through the 2nd week of December. So I won’t be going in January through April.

 

We own fixed weeks at Playa Linda (we rent that one out) and Divi Phoenix. We stay in our unit at Divi Phoenix.

 

Hope they get it under control, only 33 ICU beds, but up from just 6 earlier

We stay at the Bucuti & Tara Resort. We go by those two on our daily walks. Man we’re gonna be bummed if we can’t go.

For Americans travelling to Aruba, there is a website rapidtesttravel.com. Plug in your State and it will give you locations where you can get a COVID test in the required time frame that meets the requirements for travel to Aruba.

 

Numbers continue to rise and, sadly, another COVID death.

 

Breanna Thanks for that link. I'll check with them prior to going down. Only problem is the day I'm going is the day after Thanksgiving and I doubt that they will be doing those tests on Thanksgiving Day. I may after all have to do it in Aruba and quarantine our first day on the island. I guess I out smarted myself thinking that there will be less travel on that day since most people will travel day before and after that weekend.

 

Numbers continue to rise, including two more non-residents. I haven’t found any info on if those two cases came from testing at the airport or if they fell ill on the island and tested.
