SEVENS, you ask? Yes. Yes she does.

lemme just shuffle this in here about my humble opinions about the Cal..

Yes, I'm giving them a hard time.
    They should do better.
    They could do Better..

and if I'm catching Cosmo 1 BR terrace suites for maybe a 1/12th the play I give Boyd,
:hmmm:This shit needs definitely needs some investigation, I'll take hella bad attitude for a wraparound.
I hear CET might give generous FP,
MLife is chasing P for once a year dropins, 2 hrs a night (Superzoo for work), last played 2 years ago.

When MSS opens , I'll come immediately to see if Kevin and Grant are still dealing craps.

    You?
    You do you,
    Do what you like.
    Different strokes for different folks.

(From another thread, soon to be yanked out from there out of respect for OPs continuity)

    *1*
    Yes, I have been,
It was just table game things, having two salty dealers at two different tables, and only three were open.
Thinking I finally learned the nature of the craps table, then having it closed on a Friday night.
    Little things like this.

    CalVidVegasOMG 625.JPG
    Saturday, 8/1, 3:00 am

But you called me out, it really isn't hate, :goofy:, it is disguised (no, misplaced) sadness for all the employees there which I consider to be my friends. :(
(I had finally learned, after tipping her a year and having friendly chats every time, that Xiomara is the name of the register lady at MSC that is always there. even my weird hours.)
and anger at management for not appearing to give the place a chance to flourish.:grrr:

    my report is JMHO,
and I'm probably a little irritated about the mouth from all the mask wearing.

    :peace:to each their own,
    as I've recently learned,
it can be fun to try new things.

even if the lesson is the old things were better.

this trip was definitely different, and I probably need some time to adjust to it.
Everywhere else sure seemed to be business as usual, though.

    :nworthy:Please,:nworthy:
everyone, go enjoy the freedom to do what you like, visit the Cal, stay there, you can get on machines easier, there are no annoying people crowding you, you can run 5 slots left to right for $20 ea. VP is great with less distractions.

Play hard and keep this place open until it can come back stronger and bring back all the employees we love.
And the Hawaiians, oh I loved playing with them, so easy going.
    And Main Street.
    Then I can stop complaining.
And we can hug it out at BHB over drinks from Oleg or if it's late, Chris..
    Deal?

Tip big, it's rough out there.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...
what suit will @MGinCO's royal be in?
I see red, I'll say diamonds.

    lets go.

    **2**

I was so steamed, I was considering an aggresive short, but it's still running, and
there was only 1 BYD property that did not improve last quarter...
and I don't know anything about their widespread locals.
Fremont had full tables and was crowded. very crowded.

lets just say beating expectations huge down is ...
(I'd wager it's running on the 5% of Fanduel they're holding)

    Las Vegas Locals
Revenues at this segment amounted to $48.7 million, down 78% year over year. Moreover, the segment’s adjusted EBITDAR came in at $2.9 million compared with $71.4 million in the year-ago quarter.

    Downtown Las Vegas
Revenues at the segment declined 92.8% from the prior-year quarter’s figure to $4.7 million. Adjusted EBITDAR came in at ($7.2) million against $15.9 million reported in the year-ago quarter. The decline can primarily be attributed to reduced visitation to Las Vegas as well as lower business volumes from the company's Hawaiian customer base.

    ***3***
Like I said, more power to them,

Everyone :nworthy: please help keep the lights on until this is over, or at least the Hawaiians can come, and everyone can win.

And I really like that spot by the escalator, there's usually a security guard around that end.
I must be a chicken, it felt a little spooky. Have you ever been the only single person in an entire casino you could see?

to elaborate, It's a great quiet, well furnished room, that's why we always stay there.
On Friday night, we couldn't wait to get back,
and the closer we got, the chiller the environment was.

This was a night doing DTG (chill), 4Q (packed), Fremont (also packed, tables full, hot, lots of non playing people sitting around in slot chairs), GG (better, kind of empty than the VP fritzed),
Plaza (now we're in our zone- waitress service, A/C, space, minimal mask hassling, and some tables happening),

    then Cal.

Beautiful, quiet, Cal.. Our ears thanked us.
P goes up to our lovely, but not perfect (what is?) room.
All tables are closed until 12 am next day.
I play bubble craps and VP with the other two guys in the whole place.
It was the perfect ending to the perfect night..
    Exactly what we needed.
the silence is wonderful when you come back from the rest of downtown.
After sinking fast at @Ty & @Tarpie's 10 play, the waitress makes a point of hustling me a Hennessey ice and water to head up with.
Steven the security guard is my buddy now.

Knew I was sunk at those quick hits w. 20 in and 2.50 max bet to qualify for quick hits.
IIRC, P cut in line on the rightmost quickhit and stole a hit, so
80 in, 50 out.. got to see two , maybe 3 features.

:hmmm:anyone know the hobo sign for "nice lady lives here?"

Good thing we were Lucky, and not Toast, today we had to take our cat to the Vet.
(to be frank, worms in the ass)
The two vets we knew said this could be bad. Like bad bad.
    P is freaking out.
She was fine when we came back so I know we caught it early.
Calling front desk acts shocked when she gives me the numbers and I say “yes, yes, ok, let’s do it”, with not a seconds pause.
(our vet cousin had remotely diagnosed and prescribed the exact same)

Munch got a sweet lion cut w. Ugg boots,
    [IMG]

Cost was under both of our guesses, and also less than P's 7s hits at SP.
    Everything happens for a reason.
    Maybe?

I think she'll make it..

Just heard Rufus wainwright cover this song on piano. It’s great.
    Placeholder till I find it

next post is not sequential, it is end of the night.
I'll leave it for the contrast of crowds.

We did not much enjoy central Fremont, the crowds were thick in casinos, it was hot, and 4Q and Fremonts A/C was not quite up to the task. It was like a stifling humidity, not helped by having to wear a mask at all times..

The crowd was kind of interesting?, one story P told me later was an abusive customer at Lanai Express, berating the employee, making her put a new hot dog on because she didn't want one of the roller ones, hassling her for extra cups of ice, then having issues charging the purchase.. Sounded horrible, and P was behind her for 15-30 minutes just trying to get something to drink.
(I had found a machine by the waitress station and had a beer and a water when she came back, and that took some time, too)

    FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE CAL
It's been pointed out to me I'm dishing out Cal hate.
It's sadness really. I used to love it here.
I am very sad at what I saw, and foresee for the future.
    :(
When reviewing these pictures, we got the feeling that we captured a once in a lifetime emptiness.

I used to also get mildy irritated at all the "BConned" club hate.
but I'm starting to feel late to that party.

It's still a great clean, quiet, well furnished room, that's why we always stay there.
Ahh, I do miss playing at MSS though.
    CalVidVegasOMG 384.JPG
(yep, thats a trash bag repair I think)
    CalVidVegasOMG 388.JPG
(AD PSA: don't panic if shower doesn't get hot in 15 min, it will, eventually.. vacant floors and long pipes or something)

    CalVidVegasOMG 692StevenMyHero.jpg

Lets take a walkaround and see what's going on in this spot, shall we?
Definitely can find a machine to get on.
    CalVidVegasOMG 633.JPG

Hey! I think that's Steven on the left!
    CalVidVegasOMG 634.JPG

I do not believe this is a spot the hooker, she was half of a cute, young lovebird couple,
or at least so I assumed. Didn't notice the footwear when I made that assessment.

    CalVidVegasOMG 637.JPG
never seen such a cherry bubble craps machine, look at the lack of smudges on the cylinder!

lemme just check my final point status on the way out,

    :eek:Aw, Jeez!
    CalVidVegasOMG 628.JPG
@Ty thanks for reminding me I got to pull it out and stick it back to see updated points..
Got used to other places that update live.

    CalVidVegasOMG 620.JPG

    checked out,
aw jeez , our promised bonus FC didn't apply somehow. (my mistake, bonus FC prints as a voucher and we used it first,
also, we called them for a late checkout, they gave us 1.
when we checked out we actually had Sat night booked
(that's what we do to not beg for late checkout).

If they had told us that we would have stuck around for breakfast
(correction, not till 4pm when they open),
    and probably played more.

I could have apologized to those craps dealers.
and maybe hit my first two way player controlled parlayed hard way for them.

next time maybe, I couldn't find out if i get it now.

(actually I do get it, they'd hate that bet, I'd just hide their bet in mine and throw them two greens after)

FOUR OR FIVE OR SIX HOURS OF FUN

Had a 50 matchplay, doubled (luckily max $50, would have done the hundred) this v 6 bust card, got a 20 and he does a 4 card draw to 21.

I don't think that board is correct, he had swept the cards, and I asked him if I could get a snap of that bad beat, he recreated it, then said, I don't see anything,
but the agony of the 15 hitting 6 is not there.

Looking at the picture, it looks stupid, but I had a strategy card out and that’s what it said.
It was also after a hand of almost all low cards, why I went in w the MP. Oh well. Greedy I guess.

I was sharing the table w a full on rookie, she had no concept of the game, or how it was played, not even understanding how she lost because her hand was less than the dealers hand.

I try not to trip on newbies, and had spent about half a deck explaining it to her, along w the very friendly, patient dealer, explaining face up hand signals, etc.

I wasn’t really in any hurry, though I kind of was, since we wanted to get to 4q to try to blitz the offer.

She did well, once she got the hang of it, then the strategy card came out, and the dealer and I ran her through how to read it. She was astounded.
We even both showed her how to tip.

She left, maybe quadrupled or more, had great Bjs, doubles, splits, all patiently explained to her.
Good on her!, my win was teaching someone something.
    :D"each one, teach one."

:)bang:: very late addendum, looked at that picture again some time, it was a damn CSM)

while we were chatting, discovered she's also from LA, and as she said, "what are you going to do there?", later we realized this is part of what is happening on Fremont, if you can't go to a bar or a club, what are you going to do? Go hang out on Fremont, then it's 100 degrees at night, so why not go into an A/c casino.

Strictly reporting what we observed was large groups, several with babies, congregating inside and just kind of having a house party. There were bottles being poured out of backpacks, underage looking kids giving security a hard time, and lots of single gamblers with an entourage of buddy spectators..

(addendum, just read a motley fool article about Covid & Vegas that lays out the timeline perfectly.
*MODS - feel free to delete this link if it is in any way controversial or "too negative")
ALL the neighboring states that supply Vegas with drive in traffic had shut down their Bars.
    6/28 California,
    6/29, Arizona,
    6/30 Colorado

And so, in a span of three days, Las Vegas' two biggest drive-in markets (California and Arizona) and two of its four partners in the Western States Pact (California and Colorado) had closed bars, to go along with Florida and Texas.

    So you know what?
    I ain't mad at them.
"get in where you fit in."

4Q (packed), only had :30 till midnight for the promo, so we no played.

    CalVidVegasOMG 588.JPG

    How embarrassing,
I thought this was the girl I met the other night, all done up for work.
So I'm waving, saying hi, asking where her other friend is at.
    :oops:It wasn't her.
They showed up a little later. Looked nothing like her.
Table was full but I was right here at the table next to it.

    progressive was pretty low, anyways.
that's self drink service, first of two tallboys we bought at ABC, the second would be drank at the Plaza, with perfect timing for the waitress to show up as I'm finishing it.
Almost didn't buy 2, but P is such a trooper, she kept it in her purse for, what 20 minutes?
we follow the signs, keep it moving, and press on to:

Plaza (now we're in our zone- waitress service, A/C, space, minimal mask hassling, and some tables happening),
    CalVidVegasOMG 612.JPG
P presses up to .50 after a hit and gets her first .50 4oak:

Also, these machines are cherry, so new, great slant, buttons are perfection, 9/6 too.
    CalVidVegasOMG 616.JPG CalVidVegasOMG 609.JPG

then we head to the quiet peace and loving embrace of Cal,
our favorite downtown spot to stay at.
We might book other rooms, but we sleep the best at the Cal,
and usually book it first as a backup if we're anywhere else.

    (see previous post)

    stick and move,
    hit and run,

    it worked last trip,
and it worked this one too.

This is a good one, at the end of the trip, shooting at SP, I decided to try "just huck em, ASAP, and hard"
For some reason, my throw completely changed, they'd go flying low, bouncing over the felt, skipping like stones, always making it to the back.
It was one of the longer, if not the longest throw I had during the trip.
    I think I stuck a lot of 5's and 9's,
At some point I had all the numbers and they were getting pressed.
Then I think I set for a hard 10, had it parlayed, and immediately 7ed out.

my takeaway: If whatever you're doing is working, don't fucking change a thing about it.
(aka: "if it aint broke, don't fix it")
Felt dumb for a second, but roll was very long and inevitable is inevitable.

I'm going to try that more, it also follows what I was thinking about about keeping the pace of the game fast.
Man, I would huck em good the second they got slid to me.
No setting, but maybe trying a little style.

without concentrating on set or release, I could nail the exact spot I was aiming for every time.
3 up at the table, no complicated bets, they'd come right back.
Everyone at the table was mildy impressed with the length of this roll.

and the shit that was happening, was happening fast.

    P hits 7's while I'm playing Craps.

not too bad for 10 minutes work.

    This covered our Vet bill.
Two days after we came home.
    ;) Funny that.

Did I mention we continued our experiment in generous tipping for good karma?
A lot of waitresses got 5s..
At the end of the night at the cal, one was going to make change for me,
was totally shocked when I tell her its all for her during this slow night
(2 other people were on VP), she was so genuinely surprised and cute.

:hmmm:And come to think of it a stack of fives is a lot smaller than these unweildy bundles of ones I'm always replenishing.

P goes to the gift shop, buys presents for friends, and herself something nice,

    Any questions?

Front card is SP notes on the way in.
those are notes are an ugly double, pulled another ace and a two..
IIRC I had a $2 sucker bet on the unsuited pair.

P maxed 4 free spin promo for $55 FP.

Also all my dice sets sucked,
over the trip I found the hard way set with 5s and 3s outperformed the 3v..
and chucking em as fast as you can can also work.

old readers, I've juggled and added more stuff to be in chronological order.

    There's probably a few more P slot hits, but I'd say we're 90% done.

I wish I got two royals in a day.
but I don't grind like that.

The one I finally got last trip
should carry me over for a while.

    The reveal should be soon.
