Millions of people are drawn to Vegas each year through expansion and extraordinary vision.

What does Las Vegas need to keep the next round of consumers interested?

    Well, for starters, a COVID-19 vaccine . . . . .

After that, we can start talking about next generation consumer stuff. As I said in another thread, if this still exists in two years, it will be the end of casino gambling for me . . . .

Desert Inn. TI in original trim. Andre Rochat's restaurants back, along with Rosemary's and Table 34/Wild Sage. That's a start. ;)

But, seriously, press, a good question.

the free parking was a start I'll be the person to say it but resort fees gone or cut in half will likely bring more people into the mix.

21 and over order? Lol! Seriously I think Vegas could use a new concept for casino hotel entertainment. Desert Inn was mentioned early and that was my home for so many years. Still miss it on every trip down memory lane.

in order for Vegas to continue providing us with what we all love individually they are going to have to find the things to appeal to the next generations. I think Derick Stevens has a great handle on that but we need more developers and entrepreneurs to begin bending their brains. Steve Wynn is not going to live forever.

Most of the responses seem to be in line with what some of us miss or want. But we are already vegas fans. If you're talking about attracting the next round of customers, rehashing the past isn't the answer. I don't know the answer, but I think @ReTriggerMe is on the right path

OK, but I can't imagine "What appeals to the next generation the way that casinos appeal to our generation?"

Remember that casinos are geared to attract "our" generation, Baby Boomers and such.

Fine dining? - IMHO, they think that "In 'n Out" and "The Habit" are fine dining.
Dancing dealers? - Would that really appeal to the "Me Too" generation?
Shows? - Everyone enjoys a good show, but what group could you make an "MJ One" or "The Beatles" out of today or tomorrow.

My son is 18 and I don't see him as the casino "type". As the wage gap spreads and there is a greater distance between haves and have-nots, I see the casino customer population shrinking. Money will be too precious for the vast majority.

OK, I tried, and maybe I'm just an old fogey with no imagination.

    Maybe a mountain resort?
A brewery and distillery section of town?

One thing Vegas has going for it that already appeals to younger people is its compactness and density, and the relative ease with which you can get around without a car.

Hmm... if you're talking about "what's the next new big thing" then I don't have an answer. Or else I'd be rich!
From here on all this assumes we have a vaccine.
My first thought is that Vegas doesn't really need to do anything to keep the next round or generation of consumers coming.
When has dancing, drinking, socializing, etc. ever not been popular? I didn't even include gambling in there. It's a party city. Humans don't change, lol.
Anyways, clubs are still huge. They've made some changes but they're not going anywhere. I see all ages go from 21 (obviously) to 45+ with diminishing returns at that point lol.
Most people love drinking, dancing, and are willing to spend extra for it (you're in Vegas, don't lie to yourself).
Micro activities keep 21 year olds loving it. O`Sheas is always going crazy with music, beer pong, and gambling. It's perfect for everyone. That new area in the Linq is also super popular. You can play videos games, drink, gamble. Variety is important.
TI isn't a hot ticket since there's only that country club. They don't even have the pirate show!

Table games over slots for sure. Maybe new table games. That'd be awesome.

If any big shot MGM or CR is reading my suggestions and see's me as a visionary, I accept your job offer. Haha.

A few casinos that cater only to the over 50 crowd. We are the round of consumers that matter. :shy:

I wish I knew so that I could slide the decimal point in my net worth a few spots to the right.

IMO each generation of people, and thus visitors, has a shorter attention span & expects/is used to greater efficiency in all facets of life than the previous generation. To keep moving forward, I think everything will need to get faster. Check in/out online & go straight to your room, no contact. Buy in, place bets, cash out instantaneously with the click of a button. I haven’t personally tried any of the stadium blackjack/craps/whatever else they have, but it seems to be similar to this. A lot of these things exist, but I think they need to get more prevalent & seamless to draw in the new wave of visitors.

I feel old-school. I can't stand the check-in kiosks. I have to talk to a person. I value the experiences that happen with everyone.
Nothing fun happens with a machine. Stupid machines for ordering food.
This is weird considering I spend most of my free time on my dual monitor rtx 2070 super computer lol.

Kona coffee place or a kona coffee truck. There used to be a truck but I never tracked it down. I want to know what the fuss is all about!
    More cactus gardens!
    More historic building love!
More of the little unique places downtown. I'd love an independent movie house too!
Basically more love for the little guy.
