I've been watching nostalgia movies the past few days. Some from as far back as 2009.

I long for those days when people are in restaurants, and held conversations. Remember when they used to shake hands and hug?

Simple times! I miss those olden days.

The original Muppets. Tons of cameos (Savalas, Steve Martin, Orson Welles) and dad jokes. Plus I do a terrific Fozzie Bear.

2009 is a good year for "old movies", I was 49 years old at the time and Fast and Furious was out. I remember thinking, finally...someone made a documentary about Florida drivers. But in keeping with the times, you could watch Carriers. Or, watch our old buddies Woody Harrelson & Jesse Eisenberg in Zombieland.

"The Cooler" is conspicuously missing from your list!
You need to put that near the top of your 'next-in-line-to-see' list.
My favorite clip from that film (language warning!):

OMG. For us, the ‘olden days’ of movies are the 1950s and 60s. Anything past 2000 is certainly “recent.”

Our “classic” movie watching lately has been Rear Window, The Great Escape and The Magnificent Seven, the latter two made even better by Elmer Bernstein’s genius music.

Our olden days even included the whole family eating dinner together, good manners and kids being able to play outside safely in the neighborhood until time for dinner.

We mark the end of civilized conversation as the introduction of the iPhone in 2007. Kids now will sit together and actually text a person five feet away. Please, God, spare from staring at a phone all day (unless maybe I’m finishing a book).
