So Wynn slots has just cancelled ALL buffet bookings. I had two booked for JULY. There was no need to cancel these so far in advance when the corona issue may well be sorted. They have clearly used this as an excuse to clear everything so people have to pay and to cut their liability.

people will have payed or/and invested a lot of time in getting to the VIP level to book buffets in the first place. Now they have to do it again. This is absolutely disgusting. Has anyone seen or heard anything or contacted Wynn to see if they will drop buffet booking to level 0 or allow some kind of free workaround for those of us who already had these booked? What about people on even higher levels that had large numbers booked?

I really cannot believe the turn Wynn have taken on this and im now wondering how safe my 7 nights (me and partner account) booking are in July. Will that be next to be stolen away from me?!

I had a buffet purchased at end of May. It's been canceled as well. My 2 nights at the end of May are still there, for now.

I had a buffet for Apr 1 for our trip. Auto canceled and gems refunded. Oh well, no big deal. Can't control it so why get in a tizzy. Have to say I was looking forward to trying their buffet. Maybe next time.

From a software standpoint, it could have been a challenge to cancel and refund some nights keep others and still allow bookings.

Eventual room cancellations would not shock me either. It is a bummer, but in the grand scheme of even just travel costs burned by coronavirus this is a pretty small deal.

    Be more dramatic?

If they cancel your 7 nights at the hotel, you've got more to worry about than your holiday, imo.

I also have a week booked in the summer, too.

If it gets cancelled, it gets cancelled. I've already paid for my flight, as well.

Fair enough, but why blanket cancel all buffets. There is no penalty to cancel a buffet. Just let people cancel individually as they find out they can't go. Maybe you get one or two that will show up in Vegas and claim they didn't know they couldn't get the buffet. Someone with a buffet in Sept likely will get to use it but maybe will need to buy up again now to get it again.

Rooms I can see being different, because then they get inundated with people asking for a refund of their penalty.

Yeah let me just make clear I have no problem with the closure of the buffet etc because of the virus. I get all that. I just think they’re using it as an excuse to clear buffets six month in advance and keep us sucked in.

with my seven nights booking if it gets cancelled due to the virus because travel is locked down I have no issue. What I mean is will Wynn slots look to wriggle out of these or if, for example, everyone stops playing with these new changes and they choose to shut down could we all lose our reservations or are they now solid and “paid for” in the eyes of the hotel? I don’t know how linked the hotel is with the app. For all we know the app developer hasn’t paid Wynn for reservations that hasn’t happened yet.

if they cancelled my seven night stay I would get my gems back but then to rebook I would need level five so I would need to spend £750!

Actually to get the full seven nights back we would have to upgrade both accounts to level 5 a so £1500! Ridiculous when only a few months ago it was completely free and that I could probably book directly with the hotel cheaper!

I have no doubt they will do the same thing to hotel bookings when hotels inevitably close soon. And by “they” I mean the app developer not Wynn. But no doubt if my four nights in July get cancelled And they want me to pay to re book , I will never set foot in Wynn/encore again.

If you only want seven nights, at the very least you could upgrade one account to level 5 and the other to level 4.
Alternately, you could just upgrade each to level 3, book 4 nights, and then book the other three after you have checked out your first reservation.

Just curious but how many times do you go to Vegas? From everything I can tell, you live in Europe. But it seems like you're going to Vegas once a month or so.

I had two buffets booked in August which they’ve cancelled and refunded my gems.

I was previously VIP level 5 when I booked, now like the majority of people I’m back at zero. So I’ve got to hope that things get smoothed out and working again in the next 86 days so I can rebook, or else I’ll have to pay to get myself back to a level where I can rebook my buffets.

While I get that actions have to be taken, something else in me sees the Wynn’s app team spotting an opportunity to make even more money.

If they truly wanted to do the right thing, they should make a rule that anyone who had buffets booked can do so again (up to the same number of buffets previously reserved), no matter what VIP level they are at when they want to rebook them. Otherwise their actions to cancel bookings will (rightly) be seen as a money making move.

I wish I did, but unfortunately not. Usually 4 weeks every summer, but because HGS paid for my flight/UFC tickets, I did 2 1/2 weeks December '19, too.

If it transpires that this is actually the case, then I'd like to think by liaising with the Wynn directly, they'd reach out to the app. With some luck, they would help reaching a resolution given the extraordinary circumstances.

Edit - As M15terP mentions above.

Some folks in the FB group have reached out directly to the hotel, who have predictably said they can't make changes to the game terms and offers.

It would be nice if they come up with some adjustment, but I'm only holding my breath when the cat farts.

Yeah, it would be nice if they can create some workaround for people that may have their rooms/trips cancelled.

Can't see them shutting the whole hotel, so no reason for that to happen, though.

Just checked on Wynn. It will cost me £1200 to pay directly for the week I have booked and that INCLUDES resort fees. With the app, it will cost me £1500 plus an uncountable amount of hours of grinding. It literally makes no sense to play.
