I loved the old canopies and do not like the replacements. Also not enamored with the new room mock ups but those aren't the finished product so I have to withhold for further judgment of actual photos

I like the brighter look, but I agree it looks somehow more Miami/Florida which works better in Mandalay Bay than it does in Bellagio.

Agreed, the original furnishings were “We want the best and don’t care what it costs.” The Steve Wynn way of doing things. The new casino is moving towards “we want something more modern, we don’t want it to cost a fortune, and we don’t think most people will notice that we cut corners.” This is what CET has done to Caesars Palace—cheapened things down little by little, to the point where most people DO notice. Hopefully MGM is not taking a page out of the CET playbook at Bellagio.

If the do this - or only something remotely similar - the upcoming October-Trip will be my last.
Never stayed at the Mandalay / Delano, but image that's how their rooms must look.

I like the yellowish-coziness of the current Two Queen rooms so much, that I book them on single trips instead of King Rooms or Suites.

... agree 100%: Prefer "elegant but a bit dated and worn" over "new but cheap" any day.

That carpet is abhorrent. So they took the tubs out? The rest looks nice, though it fits with Mandalay Bay not with Bellagio. What are these execs smoking?

I stayed in a redone CP room last year and I don't agree with that sentiment - I thought the room was quite good. It's the casino floor that I don't love.

Caesars actually seems to be spending some $ on their room renovations.

Cromwell was excellent. Even Harrah's punches far above it's weight class. Despite being equivalent of Luxor it has much better quality furnishings and better bathrooms. Room service is also served later.

My ex always said I was the most unobservant person in the world, and I guess that must be true. If someone held a gun to my head and forced me to describe the light fixtures that were at the Bellagio before they replaced them - well, I'd be dead. Unless they are causing a glare on my slot machine, because I really hate that :).

Not to mention that I could care less about how the casino looks - as far as "decor", or what the carpeting or light fixtures look like. Pretty much all I care about is how it relates to my slot playing experience, i.e., how close the machines are to each other, the music that is played, how comfortable are the chairs, the size of the glass that soda's come in, etc.

Not at all trying to be critical, just think it's kind of funny. Different strokes!

I don't agree with this either. The Flamingo and Harrah's room renovations were done very well, and actually look better than these Bellagio renovations. Hell, the South Tower rooms at Harrah's Laughlin look better.

The Palace Tower room renovations at Caesars look classy and upscale. And the transformations to Cromwell and LINQ are two of the best renovations Vegas has seen. Especially considering what they had to work with.

Reminds me of Delano, not Bellagio.

Agreed. Looks like a remodel they should do for Mandalay.

Funny note along those same lines; The first time I went into Encore I was like WTF is with all the red in here? I thought it was way over the top and hated it. Then after a relatively short time, it really grew on me and now I love it. In fact I was really disappointed when the red chandeliers disappeared. I've learned to not always go with my first instinct when it comes to liking the décor of a hotel and casino. Although I've given it years and still hate what MGM did to the Mirage:poke:

Vegas Vacation Mirage was best Mirage. MGM did a good job on the rooms. The casino is worse than it used to be. So dark.

I'll admit to still missing the Wizard of Oz theme at MGM Grand.
