Paris vs Cromwell

Can someone tell me 1st would you take Cromwell over Paris? What are the differences in the Paris rooms? Cromwell videos seem like the room is dark. I have the following comp options:

Burgundy Eiffel View (is this a strip view of the fountains or blocked by the Eiffel)

Cromwell Deluxe

Cromwell Luxury

 

At Paris the room elevators are very far from the casino. They're in the passageway between Paris and Bally's.

Cromwell rooms are indeed dark, but everything is within short walking distance. I don't know how long the hallways are at Paris (it's been many years since I stayed there), but personally, I don't like being at the end of the hall.

I have been fortunate to have a Flamingo Rd. view every time I've stayed at the Cromwell. It's OK, but not something to write home about.

 

The Cromwell is the opposite of a big hotel with 1000's of rooms. They have 188 rooms on 3-4 floors and it is never more than a couple minutes from room to the strip. Paris you have to deal with the high rise hotels, 1000's of guests and since it is so closely tied to Bally's, there is even more crowd there. The check in at the Cromwell took me 5 minutes and there was no line. The rooms are darker, yes, but they are nice and might not be for a family but for a solo/couple they are nice. There is no tub in the Cromwell rooms, if that is some thing you are in to and the luxury rooms that are 'strip view', because of the way the hotel is oriented, are not a full strip view but angled. The other, non luxury rooms, get a really nice view of the garage or the side of the Flamingo. If you can get a luxury, strip view, room, I would take the Cromwell comps over Paris.

CET did about the best renovation of a small room I've ever seen or experienced when they redid the rooms at Cromwell. It feels bigger than it is. It has "areas" such as a sitting area, a makeup/desk area. The bathrooms are great, with one of the best showers on the strip.

They don't get much natural light and tend to be a "darker' room. "Luxury" is a Flaming Rd. view. "Deluxe" is a garage view. Both are the exact same room except for the view.

I would also imagine the noise and bass from Drai's over NYE is going to be LOUD and go late.

If there's more than two of you, or if you need two beds, I'd go with Paris.

But neither room will disappoint roomwise.

I had a choice last month to pick a comped Deluxe room at Cromwell or a comped Burgundy Room at Paris. Almost went with Paris as I like the property but after showing my wife vids of both rooms, she said the Paris one looked a little cheap and that Cromwell despite being 100 sq/ft smaller looked much nicer. I agreed and tried our luck. Couldn't have been happier. The Cromwell is basically the 2nd nicest property Caesars has in Vegas. Yes, the rooms are smaller than I'd prefer but this was a last minute extend the trip moment for us. Despite coming from a 3,000 sq/ft Grand Lakeview Suite at Bellagio we were fine, though our luggage was a bit spread out all over the place. Actually thought the quality of furnishings was better than Bellagio. Shower was nicer. I'd happily stay there again. Only downside is that the pool is effectively a beach club almost all the time. You can use the terrific pool at Caesars though, just show your room key.

 

My friend recently stayed at Cromwell and enjoyed the room however did mention the nightclub kept him up on his last night there.

Not true. The Carson and Rush Towers at the GN or the Venezia Tower at Venetian—that's a long walk from the casino to the elevators. Paris elevators are a few steps away from the casino. I have a bum knee and I can tell you, it's no big deal.

 

For whatever reason CET markets the Cromwell as it's 2nd best property behind Caesars. Sure it's a cute & nice very small casino with good drink service but that's about it. The rooms are small and dark, there's limited dinning options as well as limited slot selection. The noise late night from Drai's nightclub can be extremely annoying. There's just nothing about this property that makes me want to stay there, not even for free which I can 24/7. Paris gets my vote.

 

Your review seems to mirror my thoughts. I have noticed the rooms are small and dark. I think I was intrigued because its the 2nd best property price wise...but I'm not sure what the big deal is with this room. It seems like if I was going solo it might be better, but I think my husband and I would suck up the space quickly.

 

I stayed at Paris in 2017. The room elevators were right off the casino in the hallway by the restrooms.

 

Ironically somehow the Cromwell rooms are darker in the day than at night, even with the lights on. I thought they would be really dark too. Ended up actually really liking the lighting as I prefer mood lights.

 

I wouldn't consider the elevators as "right off the casino . . . ", but then again, it's closer than I was at the Mirage when I had the "end of the hallway room" . . . . .

 

It's really not far at all from the lobby/casino floor. Now, the parking garage is another story. I felt like that was a 2 mile walk.

 

Can someone tell me what is the difference in the view between end of hallway and eiffel view? Is the view of the fountains blocked by the Eiffel?

Paris is a big "X" looking from the sky. So of the 8 end-of-hallway rooms on every floor, only two are Eiffel Tower view. You can do a Google satellite view and you'll see what I mean (and whether or not the tower impedes the fountain view—I don't think it does but I've never stayed that far down the hallway).

Does "Burgundy Premium End of Hall" specifically promise an Eiffel Tower view? if not, it's likely going to be one of the non-view rooms.

Personally, I'd lock in the Eiffel Tower view room for the fabulous view, and ask for a high floor with the best fountain view when I check in.

The Cromwell has perhaps the most laid back and friendly of gambling in Vegas for CET.

Can’t think of a bad experience I’ve had when popping in there.

Agree with checkin. It was a breeze. It was nice to have the blinged our coffee maker on each floor too.

As for the rooms, I agree they are a little dark. Since they are wood flooring, they also tend to be louder I think. Could hear neighbors clearly talking. No carpet to deaden the sound. I haven’t been there on the weekend when Drai’s is in full action, but I would assume the high floor gets more noise.

Depending on who’s playing, you will get a pretty wild crowd on the weekend I’ve heard. They probably get just as many people going to the club at Caesars, but that is a much larger hotel where they blend in more.

My room was overlooking the walkway that goes to Bally’s. This would be the Flamingo side I think.
