    My Trip Report

Usually I have the American Casino Guide. This time I living high on the hog - it is the year of the pig. It’s 2 AM and I’m savoring my last hour before I have to get moving. Our flight leaves at 6:55 out of Austin. Staying at a Hampton Inn nearby the airport. Yesterday I had my daughter-in-laws baby shower to go to. They live in a suburb of San Antonio - we live in the Texas Hill Country - 70 miles northwest of San Antonio/ Helotes and 70 miles due west of Austin. So after the baby shower we took I35 north to Austin. OMG I 35 was a parking lot— slow heavy traffic it was awful. Working nights my body is confused and doesn’t now what time it is. And being married to a former Marine who’s motto is on time is late and early is on time means I am up way before the crack ass of dawn. I’m a little po’d because my d-in-law texted me a pic of what I left behind at her house. The 2 travel pillows I just purchased a few days ago. (Whine) I’m not good at live reports but will try to update nightly or if I get that big win.

I’m using an Mlife offer 3 nights free and a whopping $50 resort credit. We’ve never given them much play and never stayed there so it was a surprise to get an offer from them. The only thing planned for sure is the Vegas Golden Nights vs. Dallas Stars on Tuesday. I do have gift cards I got from Amex points, $50 Cheesecake Factory, $100 Yard House, and $50 Lettuce Entertain You, and - a $50 Hexx Groupon. Also a good friend of mine is coincidentally arriving Monday but they are staying at the Luxor.

On a side note we took our weenie dogs to the doggie spa/prison yesterday. Usually it involves a lot of drama. The vet suggested Adaptil - a calming pheromone spray- it works great. A little panting and whining but nothing like the drama in the past. I left it there for them to douse their bed and blankets every day.

Wish me luck. Oh I also bought a clicker- thanks VegasWorm.

We were through TSA at 4:30. 2 1/2 hours before our flight. But we are on time. Had breakfast Tacos at Peached Tortilla - pretty good for airport food. My husband got Korean steak, egg & cheese, and I got pork belly with avocado & egg yum.

I'm like your hubby in the punctuality department and my husband is notoriously late. Oh the joyous discussions that arise as a result. I often give him a fake time an hour or so earlier than we need to arrive to give us a fighting chance of being on time.

Looking forward to following your adventures.

You may need that clicker to keep track of all the goals the Stars score :)

    Good Luck!

Is the clicker for anything in particular? Maybe I've just missed it in the past, but I don't recall references to it before.

If I'm not mistaken, it's for each slot pull???? To keep track of how many spins etc.

I don't play much in the way of slots but when I do I try to keep count. Example: 1.00 per pull, 100 bucks in, then cash out after the 100th spin .. ( with hopefully more than 100 dollars). Having a clicker would make it so much easier. Never think of it until reading a post about them.

It sounds like you have your meals planned out, but if you like pork belly, particularly Asian style, I'd suggest one of the preparations at Momofuku at Cosmopolitan.

I've had pork belly ramen and pork bun two of the three times I'd been there (in the last two months), and it never disappoints. On one trip, the person that I was eating with wanted to order more food, but I told her to "just wait" and if she wasn't full by the end of the meal, we could order more. A bowl of pork belly ramen each and an order of pork belly buns (2 to an order) was just fine for lunch/siew yeh (midnight snack).

Check out any of my last three trip reports of a review in the restaurant section for pictures.

Nice! Welcome to the Generation of Swine. I suggest tonkotsu ramen with extra chashu at Monta on spring mountain if you're in the mood for a field trip. It is absolutely divine in my opinion, even if it doesn't cost that much.

Flight was great. On time - no drama, no crying Whitney children or adults. Lyft $16.55 to Mirage. I paid for early check in but it was not on the reservation. I had changed our reservation due to flight times from 4 to 3 nights & it dropped the early room guarantee & they had no strip view king but he gave us 2 Queens and comped us 2 nights resort fee. So we only have to pay about $41 for 3 nights. I’m getting ready to hit the casino. I did a 2 for 1 myvegas Sunday brunch here at Mirage- wanted something quick meh- the hubs wants steak tonight so we will probably eat at Heritage steakhouse.

Thanks for all well wishes and suggestions.

    More than brutal.

I willingly pay more to fly at "normal" hours, every single time. :poke:

Sounds like a win really getting those resort fees comped and $41 for three nights, good job

I prefer the earliest non-stop to Vegas I can get, thats an extra day of fun if I get there early. Return I dont really care

Down $50 started on .25 J/B put in $100 played for about an hour - I get restless cashed out at $100. Went and played WOF 1.25 a spin down to $60 played some other 3 wheel slot .75 got it $40 back to VP up down etc. I’ve had one 4OAK - I got up the nerve to play $1 VP JB with better pay tables. I was down to $20 got up to $75 then back to $50 cashed out. Back in the room freshening up and getting a Coke Zero and Coconut Rum,

And yes I was a chicken and held the 5- now we will never know.

    Is your sister with you?

If so, I may have to fly out there to see if we're compatible and stuff.

I'm not necessarily a cat person, but anything for love, @Valgal.

Lol - but would you give up Vegas? She hates smoking ( any type of smoking) drinking, and gambling. You will have to wait until she gets a hip replacement. I’ll say a good word for you.

She’d be so pissed if she knew I was flauntin her virginity out here — we’ll it’s kinda like Madonna - like a Virgin. It’s been at least 30 years. Don’t forget she’s also a bit of a hoarder - I fear. No one is perfect.

If you can't itemize and write off losses, it's technically the right play to avoid the Royal draw, but I probably still go for it anyway. [emoji14] My last royal came from AKQ with a fourth spade.
