What to do with our bags

We're flying in late, about 1am into Vegas so we won't be getting a room for that night. We'll have two small backpacks and that's it. We'd rather not carry them around all night and morning. I've left my bags with the Bell Desk after check out, but what about dropping them off 18 hours before you check in? Are there any other options? Thanks.

The wife and I did this once in our thirties it really ,REALLY sucked. DONT DO IT. Even if the room is a couple hundred bucks get the room. Eat and gamble then what? Answer: gamble,gamble and then more gambling. Bring about 3days bankroll for that 18 hours ,seriously.
Chances are your going to lose about 3x what your room would have cost. And casino personal will be shoeing u along if u try to dose off anywhere.

It was are 2nd trip to Vegas to, like 1997 I think.

 

We've left our backpacks at several bell desks.
Sure takes a load off our backs and minds for awhile!

If you haven't already call and see if you can get a deal by checking in at 1:00 a.m. It will be no more drain on housekeeping and if the room is sitting vacant the hotel can make a few $'s. We did stay up a couple of trips back in the 80's when much younger but even then the wall you inevitably hit is quite dense. Think coma. Good luck.

 

We'll be staying at Aria. We know it will probably get rough about 4am-11am but we fly in Saturday Jan 8th and that's the last day of CES. We know most hotels will be booked but we may check out Hotwire to see if there are any last minute deals. I was planning to go to the front desk of Aria too just to see if they can get us a good deal on a last minute check in. Just can't justify paying $200+ for a room we will barely use. If push comes to shove we'll just tip the bell desk well and keep our cash on us. Just wasn't sure if you needed a room number or key to use them. Thanks for the advice!

 

if getting in at 1am you probably won't get to hotel til close to 2am. Try about 8am for early check in for about $35. that is only 6 hours or so to kill. They might not charge or say to come back around 10-11

 

just check them with the bell desk.. I do this every trip.. we usually fly in around 10 pm and do not get a room the first night.. no regrets yet!

 

No room key, no number. They don't care if you're staying in their hotel.

I know some women that do that. They usually find a place to sleep...

 

and some money too.

 

We have taken the red eye out of Aria twice and left our full luggage with the bell desk both times. Tipped $5 for the drop off and $5 for the pick up. No problems they just give you a ticket to hold onto with maybe your name on it. You don't need a room number etc. They also will flag your luggage as fragile if you have anything that may break.

On my trip there a couple of weeks ago a few Aria staff members really stood as being great and the people at the bell desk were them. The guy that took our bags was really awesome and answered some questions about fares and routes to the airport etc. Top notch guy.

Did you take a look at Bally's or the Flamingo. A coupe of them were giving rooms away for $29 + resort fees. We were close to getting one on our last red eye trip.

 

The bell desk idea reminds me of a sign that the old gold spike used to have up by their front desk(the spike was a dump by the way), it said "we will not check luggage that consists of a paper sack".

 

I think this is an incredibly bad idea. My advice, despite all of the ways suggested to pull it off, is DON'T DO IT!!!

You will end up being tired, cranky, in bad need of a shower, hungry, in a trance and probably one or the other spouse will have already bitten the other's head off, thus setting the tone for the rest of the trip.

There has to be a Super 8, Day's Inn, Red Roof, Holiday Inn, etc., that will let you check in late so you have a place to just crash for the night.

Just hanging out in a casino for all that time is terrible idea.

 

What time does the spa open? You could go when they open and then nap and shower. Of course, a cheap room at a different hotel would work too.

 

When we did our two red eyes we had to spend 9 hrs roughly with no place to camp (although we did have the lounge at Aria last trip).

18 hours would be pure hell. We had lunch, we had a dinner and we walked the strip a bit and we gambled for awhile. That is a long time. We were both at the end of our ropes after that.

 

Rent a minivan or SUV at the airport, pay for parking in a casino property garage, find a remote parking space and fold the seats down. Car camping is fun. Less than the full price of a hotel room by far.

 

This a great idea. Spa opens at 5 am. Aria spa facilities are beautiful. It will cost 40-50 per person but you get an all day pass. Plenty of areas to rest, nap, snack and hydrate, shower and shave, etc. Also they have coed areas to meet up and hang out.
