Have any Canadian got their IRS refund back from 2014?

hmmm, 2013 hey, did they pay you any interest on it? My understanding is that the 2014 cheques have to be mailed by December 2015 or they are subject to interest!

No interest. I guess because I only filed April this year.

I'm encouraged though, I filed six returns all told, between me and the Quad Queen.

 

It also contains potassium benzoate.

Update - I've received three cheques from the IRS in the last 2 weeks.

But not from last year's filing.

Still... it made me extremely happy.

 

Just got mine early this week and no interest.

 

No status change for me on the irs website....

 

No status change for me either. Daryl didn't say if his cheque was for a 2014 filing. Wouldn't surprise me that cheques could be sent out before the website is updated. Maybe that's wishful thinking.

FYI: I just received an update from the company that I filed with:

No one has received these 2014 refunds yet. According to the IRS, they will be releasing the refunds sometime between November 29 and December 12.

If they don't have these claims issued by December 12, they will have to pay interest that is calculated retroactively to June 15. We'll also be entitled to reopen the case with the taxpayer advocate service to address the continued delay of these refunds. We have already put the case forward once but the IRS have the law on their side for now. We will revisit this issue if there are further delays after the 12th. Hopefully, there won't be.

I did some reading this morning. Seems some Canadians have been told by the IRS that letters are going out to some notifying that they need longer time to process some returns. I can't believe this. Here is the link to the website I was reading.

Yikes, the basic delay is not new (IRS posted it Jan 2015) but reading the comments, some have received notice that their 2014 returns will be delayed 6 months from now and one says Dec 2016!!!!

I guess if you re-arrange the letters in IRS, you get WTF.

 

Yup, I was hoping to have the return by now for some additional ammo for my upcoming December trip....oh well..just my crapsa buy-in will have to be a low denom again....
