Anyone going to watch this? Premiers Tonight! The Trailer looks pretty good for a TV show! I could have sworn I typed; NBC - THE PLAYER Tonight 10/9C
My g/f actually watched the show's pilot on our April trip for $25 cash. She said she would change the channel in 5 minutes (but had to watch it all and answer questions to get paid). Unfortunately for my g/f nurse, I watched a show called "Heartbreaker" which was a funnier "Grey's Anatomy". I didn't hit the "turn off" button on my show. But I don't think my show has yet to be "greenlighted".
While I thought the trailer for THE PLAYER looked kind of outlandish, it got some good reviews and is being compared to THE BLACKLIST (and has some writer/producers from BL) which I like, so I'll probably give it a shot. And... Vegas... so, yeah that's a plus too. HEARTBREAKER was scheduled for a fall premiere on NBC, but was pushed to a midseason replacement due to Melissa George's pregnancy (the lead actor). Doesn't really sound like my kind of show.
I didn't think it was that good, but it has potential to get better in upcoming episodes. I have a feeling that Las Vegas won't be a big part of the show, even with its "gambling" premise. Check out my blog post about The Player and some of the fake Las Vegas hotels in the show.
Thanks for the info Kevin, my g/f will be pleased to hear it, as I'd think she'd like the show herself.
Wow, I thought it was awful. Could barely make it through it. Dumb premise, contrived acting, and terrible dialogue. Wish I could get that hour back
