At the MGM Grand right this second.

Yes, the main pit is all 6:5.

The pit in between the craps tables and high limit slots has four games open: 3 shoes, one DD. All S17. All 3:2. All are $50 min except one shoe is $25.

Last night they had 2 $25/min games at like 11pm on Saturday which was very surprising. They raised one to $50 a bit later but surprised it was $25 in the evening on a weekend at any point

I don't know if I even care that the BJ games I play there haven't been changed (yet). I don't think I can ever gamble another penny there.

I've always loved MGM. It was my first Vegas casino and probably the most frequent place I've stayed and played.

Whether it was true or not, I always felt it offered the best overall BJ conditions on the strip and it made the place feel like it had a certain respect for the game and for players.

But that was all a crock. Just hearing about this disgusts me and I consider the place dead to me now. No different than if it was imploded. I'll weep half a tear remembering the good times and then move on.

what's the big deal of 6:5?
After all, even at 1:1, it's still better than slot machines.

You increase the house edge by an additional 1.39% -- basically doubling the edge under simple strategy -- simply by paying out 6:5 blackjack. Don't do it!

That's great! I hope she "got it" after that.
I tend to put it to people this way:
    In a two-deck game, you'll get about 3 blackjacks an hour...sometimes 4. So, let's say it's 7 per two hours of play.
Now - let's say your betting $20 per hand, flat betting.
    7 blackjacks at 3:2 = $210.
    7 blackjacks at 6:5 = $168.
That's $42 in two hours, or $21 an hour.
Play blackjack for an average of 10 hours a day (like I do), you're giving up $210 per day, or $630 per three day trip.
For many "low-rollers" like me, $630 is almost always the difference between a winning trip and a losing trip!
Playing 6:5 has a significant negative impact!
Even playing a simple plus/minus count cannot overcome such an advantage for the house.

One thing I noticed yesterday: the 6:5 pit had some tables that were $25 mins and the "BJ pays 6:5" was gone from the table limit display. So maybe they go back to 3:2 for $25 mins???

Just kidding. Walked through again today and saw a $25 table that said 6:5.

    Idiots.

so all the bj games along those 2 pits near the cashier are ALL 6:5 now? Those tables also offer Surrender I believe. I can't believe MGM made the move to 6:5. The only places left to play legitimate BJ are Aria and Bellagio and MOST HL rooms.

It's always staggering when you see the potential money lost in real terms. The video explains it in plain language. I'm sure, even at $10 a hand, I probably hit a thousand dollars in BJ's over the course of a trip. I play a ton of blackjack in Vegas. It's staggering to think that the 6/5 change would cost me $300! I did have to chuckle because I still don't think she cared too much even after he took the $300 back.

I usually explain that it equals 1 bet an hour to people when it comes up in conversations. It's the simplest way to spell it out. If you're like me and blackjack is the thing you do the most while in Vegas, it really adds up.

One other observation is how fast the tide has changed with 6/5. At first it was only single deck $5 games and high limit players didn't care. Then it slowly started working it's way into shoe games and $10 tables but the high limit players still didn't care. Now that's it's working it's way up it's finally catching the attention of even the high limit players. I wonder if the high limit players had taken notice early on if that would have been enough to stop the wave of 6/5? I believe that all blackjack games will eventually be 6/5 in Vegas even at the higher limits. Maybe not the true high limit games but certainly black chip and below games. It's proven too successful and easy for them to implement for the train to stop anytime soon.

Our pal @JohnMehaffey (he's a great follow on Twitter) has confirmed rumblings we've heard that MGM Grand has switched 25 blackjack tables from 3:2 to 6:5. Even some of their video blackjack machines (like this) pay 6:5 when you’re dealt blackjack. MGM Grand had some of the better blackjack games available on the Vegas Strip until this change.

He also reports that recent visits to Paris and Bally’s show no 6:5 games. Last year, we told you about a sweet 3:2 game at Bally’s and it looks as though they’re continuing the idea of good blackjack.

    6:5 Blackjack in Downtown Vegas

Downtown Vegas is often where gamblers go for the best odds in Las Vegas. That may not be the case for much longer. Four Queens and Binion’s have been dealing up 6:5 blackjack for a while now. Binion’s turned that tide for a couple of days with the short-lived Throwback Blackjack promotion, but they’re back to normal again. Now, Downtown Grand is getting into the 6:5 game.

When a casino pays 6:5 on blackjack instead of the traditional 3:2, you get paid less money when you get a natural blackjack. The difference is getting paid $12 for a $10 wager on a 6:5 game vs. getting paid $15 for a $10 wager on a 3:2 game.

Depending on other rules of the game, this can push the house edge from about 0.43% to 1.88%. That’s a huge shift in odds.

Everyone hates the 6:5 BJ. I don't play BJ a lot....... but I rarely get dealt a BJ... so I might play a 6:5 table if I just cant find any 3:32.

Was in Harrahs at end of January... and played a 3:2 BJ , dealt from a shoe., Table was next to the craps tables. Now this was a weekday,, in the early afternoon. Don't
remember if it was like that in the evening. And that table was always full. Had a hard time getting a seat there, or might have played a couple of more times.

Wrong about which part? The whole thing? Or the availability of 3:2 at Paris/Bally's?

Ok, just checked a very reputable BJ website. MGM still has 3:2 pitch games at $25 level.

Was also pleased to see the 3:2 report at Bally's, as others have stated here.

    I really like this place!
