We go to Vegas 3-4 times per year and always stay at the D. Last time they said they couldn't send a car to get us at the airport. No big deal . . . I thought it was a one-time thing. No more cars they said, only for the "big" players. Every time we go their limo is just sitting. Now they tell us they have cut back on a lot of the "perks." I noticed that our free play and food credit also went down. I called a few weeks ago to use a room offer and they said now some dates are blacked out and they won't comp them anymore. They said all week-ends in March are blacked out. I needed Valentine's Day and we have to pay for that night. We usually spend a couple grand each trip. I'm thinking about looking around Downtown for a new hotel. I can't stand the loud music and their stupid elevators anyway.

Kinda related...I have an offer from 4Q for two free nights, so I went to book it for my brother for the weekend of April 17. Can't do it, they have a tournament of some kind going on that weekend. I couldn't even book Sunday/Monday.

Rooms are nice, they usually comp us a suite. Many on this board have complained about room noise from the freeway and railroad. Others have thought that they are a little tight with their room comps.

Because I couldn't use the 4Q comp, I booked my brother in at Main Street using my "so called special" Emerald rate. April 17- 21(4 nights) for $190 + tax.

    Casinos are business.

These are business decisions not personal decisions.

Things change frequently in vegas, they try this and that out to see what will maximize profit for themselves. especially a guy who is new to the casino game like Derrick is.

if it were not for this then there would be no casinos, no comps, just a bunch of ramada inns in the middle of a hot, dusty place that no one would visit unless they had to.

Sort of like Phoenix I suppose.

just kidding, just kidding. take it easy.

You're not alone. Normally I get 4 nights, 75food, 75fp and some match play stuff from the D every 3 months. I haven't received a single offer this year. GN offers have depleted to freeplay and discounted rooms as well even though my play went up. I think everyone is cutting back on comps.

I think this is a sign of downtown success.

If the hotel is getting booked and the floor is busy, no need to give away as many comps.

I get comped at the D. My February and March offers were the same. 4 nights, $200 FP per month, $100 MP and $150 FBC per month.

I'll let y'all know if that changes.

I know my 4Q's offers have been the same even with me spending more. This is the first real offer that I've gotten from the The D/GG, and it's a lot better than next door. Trying to remember right off, but it's 3 nights at both places. $15 food at GG for Mar, and another $15 for April. $25 food at The D. $40 in FP at GG, $50(I think) at The D.

To compare, I was only getting a BOGO at $26/night and $40 FP at 4Queens.

Thanks to that offer, I'm going twice in March. Dang them. :evillaugh

I like Fremont. The rooms are small and Bathrooms are the size of a broom closet, but comps were decent. I don't know if they are cutting back as I haven't played down town too much, so I get NO comps down town any more. Being "B Connected" with Boyd properties is a plus. My fault in a way but the other Canadian friends I travel with are strip people.

Just stayed at the D a few weeks back, because friends where posted up there. Wasn't impressed. Rooms were far from anything special. Lots of construction noise and elevator situation is just odd. For downtown, it was a bit above par, but give me the south strip any day of the week. The one thing I will say I did like is the very long bar with all the TVs. Good place to watch a go and drink.

I've never stayed there, but to be fair the nights that you requested are probably quite busy nights. Valentines day is on a weekend this year and March Madness will attract a lot of people to town.

I'm glad we got the 3 nights comped . . . we will probably stay there in the future because that's where we are most comfortable. I remember a few years back, they were renovating the elevators because they were so SLOW!
They were efficient for maybe a year? Then we stayed there in Oct. 2014, and they were terrible. You punch in your floor number and it tells you which elevator to get on. There was such a back-up of people that it looked like a big sale on Black Friday. Then one of them broke . . . they finally brought some of the crowd up on the service elevators. I hope it's better this time.

At the New Year's Eve Party Derek Stevens promised new elevators in 2015.

I have seen the change in the D and figured it was a matter of time. I used to stay at the Fitz and when Steven's bought the place and did the renovation I figured it was a matter of time before my offers dried up.
They have not dried up but they seem to fluctuate. January offers were awful (BOGO rooms, $5 match play). April and May are better (4 free nights, free food, $25 or $50 MP). I still get transportation but my host ribbed me about my play in October - said it needed to improve to continue that trend. I told him to check my play at GG and then he was satisfied. with that said, if you have any play at GG you might share your GG players card number with your host - it may make a difference.

Thanks for the advice. Will do the next time staying at the D. I like going to different casinos to gamble and GG is a fun atmosphere.
