Hmmm...that combo meal looks to be only 3 cheeseburgers. And Pepsi? :grrr:...cheap bastards! I don't think I have ever been to a WC that serves Pepsi!

I am also curious to see if my prediction of the basic white castle would cost $1. It's currently about 70 cents in St. Louis.

I find this comment interesting. When it comes to chain restaurants I've found that franchised are better run (without exception so far). When the McD's in our town where sold back to the Corp the quality of everything went downhill. If I find a very well run unit of any chain and ask about ownership it's always a franchisee. Admittedly I don't get to may WC so maybe they have a better quality system.

I'm from cincy and i wouldn't get too excited about white castles, their burgers are different but they are not great I can look out my office window and see one right now thats how close I am to one and i go there about once every month maybe. They do actually have good breakfast sandwiches but the burgers are for the drunken crowd IMO

Chicago must REALLY be hurting when it comes to fast food.

    Well yes and no....

We do not have the amount of big corporate fast food joins that other cities have. For example Sonic just moved into the market a few years ago same with Chick-fil-a. We do not have Hardees or A&W. No Jack in the Box here either.

What we do have is a wonderful collection of locally owned fast food places. Hot dog stands, Italian beef places, Gyro and burger joints, Taco and burrito places which IMO is a whole lot better than than the usual suspects. So there is good quality fast food here, just not the national chains that most cities have. A lot of the local places are not open for breakfast.

So yeah based on the corporate places we do have that serve breakfast, Subway, Wendy's, MC, BK and the disgusting Taco Bell breakfast :vomit:, I think that White Castle does have the best Breakfast in this market. I do not think it is better than the Jack in the Box breakfast I had out west. (We used to have Jack but after the E-Coli incident they moved out, we actually had Hardees as well)

Opps.............didn't notice you were referring to just "breakfast" fast foods so I'll take that back.

Right now I would have to rate Subway near the top on fast foods although I have never had any breakfast meals from them.

    Haha not worries!

I never had their breakfast either, but I usually go to Potbelly. If I want a cold sub, I go to a local joint described above or Mr. Submarine. I think subway as good quality fresh ingredients, I just do not it compared to other spots.

We used to have Togo's here.

Oh on my list above I left off Arby's, how Arby's survives in this city is beyond me!

Subway isn't the worst for non-breakfast food but much better choices are available in Chicago for sandwiches and for chain sandwiches I wouldn't have them at the top of the list.

$6 for the frozen BS combo meal? Oh that's terrible. Frozen ones are way worse than fresh.

I disagree. The frozen ones are good if heated properly. The box of 16 sells quickly at my grocery store.
