Hey! There's nothing wrong with a bratwurst. But maybe that was a compliment... I like Luxor myself. Exalibur, eh.

But as for Linq, I can see they are doing the same thing they did with PHo a few years back and gear it toward a younger demographic who can spend more. It still baffles me that they didn't touch the rooms until after the casino was changed. At the very least, they could have done the penthouses to get some higher profile players to stay there before sprucing up the lower tier rooms.

The Quad has a new name?

Just checking my email tonight and I have one from CET. It's an offer to stay at the Linq, the newest hotel and casino on the strip.

    Anyone else get this one?

This just seems really strange because in my mind the true "newest" would be Cromwell, at least until SLS opens.

The transition from the Quad to the Linq won't happen until the end of October. So at that point, it will be the newest on the strip. Even though, it's really as remodeled Quad hotel, and you'll be staying in a remodeled Imperial Palace room.

The LinQ Hotel, formerly Quad, formerly Imperial Palace, will get the official name change in the Fall. On the TR website, it shows Quad and LinQ because if you book Quad you are not staying in LinQ rooms. Big difference. I would wait till the Fall to book the new LinQ rooms once they're finished and the Quad is history. The Quad rooms for the next couple of months are basically Imperial Palace rooms.
There are pics online, like at Vegas Chatter, which have views of the new rooms.
I still have 2 more trips this year to Vegas and already booked PHO.............but i'm seriously considering the LinQ Hotel & Casino for 2015.

The Quad casino is suprisingly nice and the whole Linq street was impressive. We had a lot of fun in the O'Shea's casino and the VP there was very kind to us. Add in a crazy bartender always eager to keep our drink filled and it was a great time. I'd stay there when the rooms are renovated.

Wondering when they'll rip the pagoda roof tops off the old IP/Quad/...Linq... We just got back from end of August trip and a view on the High Roller exposed a dug up pool deck and a lovely view of different paint colors splashed all over the back of the hotel. Has anyone else seen that??? Trying to decide on paint colors or just picking up the mismatched discounted paints from the local Home Depot for a quick paint job?? Anyways... The corridor between Flamingo and Quad is actually quite nice (The Linq). The inside casino inside the Quad is really cool. But standing across the way CP side, the facade of the Quad is actually quite a wreck. Even walking along the building, it's already beginning to fall apart. Why would any designer paint anything white along the strip?!

In their defense, I don't even want to guess what a hotel retrofit to central air would have cost them. Maybe they'll have NEW crappy AC/heating units.

Be really interesting where they try to position this price wise. With the size/amenity limitations already in place, hope they are counting on rates higher than the Harrah's/Bally's level ...

I think they will slide in right below PHo and compete head to head with say NYNY. They could get higher rack rates by cross marketing with other CET properties. Say like free passes to Drai's beach club.

I saw the question earlier about the balconies. They are being completely removed and the doors are sealed and being turned into floor to ceiling windows. When we checked in in late April, we got the low down on some of the changes. Two of the towers were closed when we were there.

We always loved a pool view room at The Quad and opening the door to the balcony, so this is disappointing. I think the reno is great, and I'd certainly stay there in the future if I choose to stay on the strip. We've moved most of our gambling and stays downtown as the strip seems to be less about gambling and more about partying, which is just a small part of why we visit.

Regardless, glad to see them continuing to make improvements. I love seeing the renovations of The Quad, Cromwell, and the SLS.

Wow. Above Paris? If that is their goal, they have a ways to go. The view from the High Roller is pretty gnarly right now. I guess its possible, but I just think that's a heck of a jump (from lowest tiered property to their #3 property on the Strip!)

All the stuff behind the Ling and Cromwell is why they say, The LINQ Hotel & Casino
is the social hub for trend-setters and
    partiers alike.

People want to stay by the hub and they will pay. Price, CP, Cromwell, then close will be The Ling. PHO and Paris. Ballys, Flam, Harrahs. Rio is a whatever at this point imo.

Don't hold me to this, but I thought they were going to offer these rooms, with the same pool access, at a premium when they got the whole pool renovation completed.

I hear ya that they will market it as such. I just can't imagine the CET clientele paying PHo prices for the former IP. If they can get Paris for less, I imagine a lot of them will opt for Paris

Paris was due a remodel a few years ago so I'm thinking when the Ling and all the other stuff behind it is finished then maybe it will be time for Paris. Even Harrah's is getting stuff.

Thankfully! I read the news about trying to open up the gaming floor a bit more. That would be a huge improvement

Big Sack and I will be LIVE from the Diamond Lounge on Halloween weekend and we shall get you some pics of that AND I will have Big Sack take a few pics of his room. He is staying there on the 30th for nostalgic reasons. And I swear it will be live updates and pics sent to Beejay or Macker to post for all to see.

I liked the old IP. Not sure why everyone is hating on the upgrades to it now but opinions are entitled to be had!! I miss the old school that was the IP but the place looks decent. Drab and interchangeable with any other non themed casino but decent. Looks like Harrah's will be the low rent joint for CET now.
