On the plane, will be there in 6 hours...have some Cosmo free play and PH gift card to collect.

I am going to have 24 hours solo before friends arrive, so I am taking requests for the first day...if there is something you want me to check out for you, eg video poker pay tables, blackjack conditions at strip casinos, etc, I'll try to get it done tomorrow.

    See you vmb ers soon!

Well, I guess the curse of the August vmbers has hit me too. After winning about $8000 in craps in 45 minutes, I went to go grab a burger at Henry. Of course, as I walk back the same craps table is packed and everyone is yelling and screaming...so I go sit at one of the shoe blackjack tables within earshot of the table.

As they keep yelling and high fiving and making me feel bad for leaving, my purple chip blackjack was a disaster. I lost the first seven hands to a dealer twenty or twenty one, then after about 10 drinks and two hours later I'm down to about $3000. Then I get dealt 7-7, with a dealer 6 showing. Split, another 7. Split, another 7. Now there's $2000 out there. Then I get doubling hands on all, with the end totals being something like 18,17,19,17, and I had to reach into my pocket for the last $1000.

My neighbor, who is playing $50 asks me should he double his hand, a A-5. Of course, I tell him. He draws a 5 for a 21. This, of course is making me feel like a genius given the dealer 6 up.

Of course, you all know what happens. Dealer pulls out a 5 underneath the 6 and I groan. The groaning gets louder when he pulls a queen, and for this purple chip blackjack player, my largest bet in blackjack lost in spectacular fashion. My table mate felt bad about taking the 5 but oh well.

So I wander into the high limit room looking for people clutching their $25k chips, but none of them look like a vmber. Because they are all winning. Grr.

I try my hand at 100 hand vp for several hindered and you know how that ends up. Pulling my $2.50 Tito out of the machine makes me feel great.

I end up returning to the craps table, about 3am now, and people are at the table taking markers out to play the dark side. One guy is playing purple with full odds and don't pass with full odds, and I'm the only right side player at the table. Ugh. Well, again you know what happens. After 5 point- number-number-outs, mr purple don't has turned about $10k into $30k. And I have turned over another $5k to the Cosmo. Then I get on a mini roll, not for myself, but I rolled a 9 about 8 times, which demolished mr purple don't, and at that point I should have asked what his vmb screen name was- but he wasn't very happy with me, and after I hit the point, took his last two purple chips and left the table. I soon left the table as well, and stumbled back to the room.

So, unfortunately I didn't wake up this morning with a photograph of a $25k chip. I've got two days to try and get there...

Even though this is a disastrous tale, its a great gambling post. I could feel your pain on that BJ table where nothing is going the way its supposed to go. And that craps table sounds like my typical craps experience where both the right side and the dark side players seem to be losing.

If there really is a curse infecting VMBers right now hopefully one of you guys will go on a monster jdvegas type run and break it.

Well this morning I woke up with a bit of a headache and stumbled into the bathroom and it's dark, I can't figure out how to turn the light on. I'm clicking the wall switch a few times and of course the lightbulb is burned out. Figures, vmb luck. They come to fix it fairly quickly.

I reassess where I'm at, I have two $5k markers out and this is what I pull out of my pants pocket [IMG]
Which isn't as bad as I thought, but terrible after being up $8k earlier in the night.

So I decide to find my lucky t shirt, the one I wore on the plane and was wearing for that initial craps session, spray some cologne on it, and get back downstairs. My friends get in soon ( this evening), so I'm wandering down to the overlook grill at the pool for breakfast. For some reason I decide that sitting and watching girls in bikinis while eating breakfast would waste valuable gambling time so get back on the elevator and head down to the craps table. Ugh. Of course, as I get there, the stickman says oh, you just missed it, we hit the all just now. That's the feature bet that pays 176-1, plus the 35-1 for the all tall and all small here at the Cosmo, and I generally always bet it, including a toke for the dealers. Well, let's call another one I say. About thirty minutes later the table is clearing out, and if I had been playing the don't...of course. I walk away after I cause my own point 7 out with about $900 left. Some lucky shirt.

So I walk over to the same bj table as last night, this time dressed better with my wrinkled shirt. Just me and another guy, who is chain smoking and making my shirt smell even better. Plop down and lose three $300 bets in a row. Ugh. Another marker please. This remains choppy and even the dealer remarks I can't win two in a row. To combat this, I put a $5 bet for the dealer out only after a win. Of course he doesn't collect a single toke for himself it seems for30 minutes, and my smoking friend has run out of smokes and patience it seems as he goes all in with his dwindling stack, about $200 and loses. I groan for him but am happy about the air quality.

Then the spirit of jdvegas hits! I won 12 hands in a row, but after the beating, wasn't pressing as strong as I should have, but by the end was betting $1000 plus $25 toke as the dealer was giving me 21s, a couple blackjacks, and remarked he hadn't seen luck like that in a long time. I buy back my marker, and he asks me what my goal is. $10k I say, and I hit it, and he makes me color up and leave.

So I walk the strip, grab something to eat, feeling good about the mini comeback.

I return, and tell myself, once my friends get here, I won't be able to be a degenerate and stand at the craps table all night so id better get the gamble on. So I return to the same spot, the scene of the previous crime, where all the dealers mention uh Oh you're back, run away. Don't worry, I'll call the all for you, the stickman says. Ok, I say, here's $75 and $15 for the dealers on the features. The first thirty minutes are choppy and then I get the dice. I'm rolling and rolling and rolling and realize I need a 10 and a 2 to complete the all. I hit a 10 and I cheer for the dealers, and myself 875 for me, and a 175 toke for the dealers. They are appreciative and set the dice for me aces up. Haha I say, and fake set the dice, launch them, and it's a one and a...one! The table goes wild, and I collect $4400 and $875, and the dealers take another $1050 toke for themselves. In the midst of the celebration I quickly seven out. Of course, now that I actually hit it, I am now hooked forever, and the rest of the table is too. It goes around the table, choppy, and then to the guy on my left. Nice guy, betting the table minimum, and with his wife standing behind him looking a little impatient. Should've sent her to the spa a la pphold-style I think to myself.

He goes on a tear and all he needs is a 10 to complete the all. He isn't betting it of course, but the dealers and the table are chanting for a 10. What do I need to throw? He asks, two fives I tell him. He chucks them down the table and 5....and another 5! The table goes wild, and I win my buy bet, my hard ways bet, and another $5000. The dealers get another $1000 toke, I'm looking like a superstar with my wrinkled t shirt, and I give the shooter $350 as a tip, which effectively doubles his bankroll at the table. You don't have to do that, he says, but I tell him I want to make sure he walks away a winner. His wife seems to brighten up now, as I'm sure she already has plans for that money.

The dealers see my wrinkled t shirt and ask me what the score of the game was last night. (There's a local sports team on the shirt). Of course I'm embarrassed and don't know if they won or not last night because I was degening it at this table all last night. I color up after another few minutes and my friends tell me to come back soon, their toke box $2000 heavier.

So now, counting the cash I lost last night, I am up about $11k. After being down almost $15k earlier this morning. I don't know if I can continue to wear this shirt though since everyone has commented on it, and will know if I wear it again tomorrow...I could wash it in the sink I guess...
