I had a report from a VMBer that they are unable to connect to VMB when using the SWA and United onboard WiFi. I can't find any reason for this on my end, and I'm unable to track down any errors in the board logs or on Cloudflare (although I make no promises about my ability to decipher CF logs). Anyone else experienced this problem? If you see it, please send me a screenshot of the error you get. And if you can include the IP address of the WiFi, buy going to a site like https://whatismyipaddress.com/ , that would be very helpful. Trying to get to the bottom of this issue and I'm not having much success with searching on approximate dates and times.
I am not and have wondered if that's what is happening. I don't have enough information to determine if that is happening either.
I have had VMB blocked by United wifi and I'm fairly confident they do it intentionally. MGM and caesars are also silently blocked. But not all United flight have VMB blocked. Their fleet has a bunch of different wifi systems, so it probably depends on what kind of plane you're on.
Yes, I too have had success using airline wifi to access VMB. That doesn't help me figure out what is actually happening. It's possible we are blocked from some services due to "inappropriate content", but it's also possible CloudFlare or the way we have set up the board to prevent hackers and spammers are blocking you too. I can control those second two, and if there's a way to make it easier for you to access VMB, it seems to be within my job description to do what I can to facilitate that. What I am asking for, to help me narrow down the problem, is: If you are blocked from VMB when using Airline WiFi, please do the following: Screen shot the error message you are getting, if any (helps me somewhat to determine where the block originates) Screen shot your current IP address on the plane, by going to https://whatismyip.com or similar site. You can email those to me at vmb at vegasmessageboard dot com or sonya at travel2vegas dot com from the plane, or PM me when you are able to get back on to VMB. Thanks!
