Hmm... That's a tough call. Skyfall will have DJ's some nights, so the vibe can be a little more lively. Plus, you have the chance of sitting outside (assuming it's not too windy). It is a solid view looking up the strip.
I get mixed up so let’s just say Waldorf or Delano lol. You’re gonna have better customer service at Waldorf. The staff at Delano are nice, but not on it. If you get a drink at the bar, your back is facing the view, but we met a very friendly talkative bartender there who hooked it up. There’s no little free nibbles at Delano if I recall. Both places have good food and drinks and views. But Delano has an outdoor area that you can walk to to take pix so thats an added bonus. sometimes you cannot get a seat right by the window at Waldorf so your view can be a little obstructed. I don’t think there’s any seat at Delano with this issue other than at the bar itself and you can still go outside for the view if you want. Plus the “fun” of going to the bathroom to check out the view too—especially for men and their urinals lol. Ladies has one toilet that has the view so look for that one lol. Thats super unique. I’ve only gone like right before sunset two times now so I have yet to experience it late night for the club vibe.
We have not been there in many years (Delano) and thinking of stopping in on next trip. Here is the bar menu with some lite bites. https://delanolasvegas.mgmresorts.com/content/dam/MGM/mgmresorts/menus/delano/skyfall/menu.pdf
We have been to both as well as alle 66 at RW. All were early evening and all with small plates. Can’t go wrong with any of them. Outside and washroom sets skyfall apart. I think skyfall has better view as well. Drinks, service and view all on par.
They are just different. The bar at the Waldorf is more sophisticated and elegant. It’s also smaller. Views are nice but don’t compare with watching the sun go down and the lights of the entire Strip come on from SkyFall. So it depends a bit on whether your visit will coincide with sunset as that could tip the decision. Waldorf has apparently changed the name to Hotel Bar FWIW.
Lol wonder how long it took them to come up with that unique and novel name. It's an absolute jewel of a venue and the name should reflect that.
Don't disagree. Staying at a nice place on the strip and not wanting a casino is like going to a really nice restaurant and not wanting cocktails served. I love the "Waldorf Astoria" spiffs at various cities, but this one just doesn't fit, imo. And you have to think they are losing bank.
