Strollin’ and Low-Rollin’

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I got in three lengthy walks and my bride and I had a nice lunch date at Red Rock (Casino).

Stopped in Dollar Tree to get a new sign for my classroom and a snack from one of my favorite northern Wisconsin companies!



For Charleston Blvd., the west side is the best side!














My mini-bank roll didn’t last long on the casino floor, but it was a fun place to visit.



We have a busy week coming up at home and school, but it was nice to have a day to just bum around!

We’re getting moved into our new rental in Summerlin!



It’s quite a change from the area around Charleston and Decatur where we’ve been staying since rebooting our Vegas residency.

It’s been fun teaching the minions the fine art of moving furniture up narrow flights of stairs!

Now I understand the “on me” part! I will proceed with caution!

 

Highlights of early yesterday included a sunrise stroll around our new neighborhood, getting home internet, and slowly (but surely) getting a heavy adjustable base for a king bed up the stairs. We dined at Carls, Jr.. A Hardee meal, no reservations required!



Our evening highlight was a date night visit to Santa Fe Station, and an Albertsons stop to acquire Drumsticks sundae cones on the way home.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I made a Pinkbox run to get some surprise treats for my bride and minions. (The little sack contains an extra doughnut I picked up for a person who has been residing on the sidewalk just outside our neighborhood. Just in case their valentine hasn’t found them yet—or vice versa.)

Track #16



Three Day Weekend

We have been having a great weekend. Here are some highlights…

On Saturday we grabbed Cane’s for the minions. Then my bride and I paid our first visit to Durango [Station]. It is a beautiful property. We both walked away up a couple of Benjamins, too!















Yesterday (Sunday) started with a walk around the neighborhood.





I had some fun with my parachutist as we are now back in a two-level abode.



He’s coming in hot, Captain!



Then we ventured up to our old North Las Vegas stomping grounds to enjoy lunch at Cracker Barrel. I went with the meatloaf. I also purchased a Father’s Day gift for my dad (a retired farmer ).







In the evening we headed over to Downtown Summerlin (shopping center) as my wife was getting a secret item from someone named Victoria. I visited The Raider Image.



On the way home, it was really pretty turning onto Summerlin Parkway Eastbound and seeing all the lights in the distance.

Today (Monday) started out with a solo trip to the Wal-mart on Lake Mead near Rancho, mainly for the ambience.



After a reverse pantry raid I ventured out for a Presidents Day stroll.

















We are looking forward to a quiet afternoon and evening ahead watching the Daytona 500 and messaging family back in Wisconsin.

Celebrating A Sindy City Saturday

We had a wonderful, albeit busy week at our respective workplaces so my bride and I braved the high winds to go out on the town—Alpert Style.

March definitely came in like a lion with the high winds roaring through the valley.



We were first time visitors to New York Pizza and Pasta just north of Sahara on Jones. Excellent food and friendly folks!











Next we visited the Ahern Hotel to attend the Hot Wheels Convention. We had a wheelie good time!







We had a nice visit with Rutledge Wood. We are big fans of his work on Top Gear, Floor is Lava, and NASCAR on NBC.



My purchases:



We met some Hot Wheels legends and visited with some of their families. Great folks! It was really cool to meet people who had a part in designing the cars I brought to school and shared with my friends during recess back in the good old days.









We stopped to grab some nuts of dough to bring home to share with the minions.







I hope everyone is having a great weekend and a wonderful start to one of my top twelve favorite months!

 

Rutledge Wood has always seemed like a good guy, and I loved Top Gear when it was on. Looks like a lot of fun!
