Just moved back to Ohio and am already missing the daily poker tournaments that I frequented while living in Vegas. I'm thinking about making the drive up to Detroit to play a couple tournaments and maybe some cash games. Does anyone live near Detroit and play poker in any of the 3 Detroit casinos?

The MGM web site has virtually NO information on their poker room. The Motor City site has a calendar of information......from 2010! The only room that seems to offer current tournament information is Greektown, but even that site (while including tournament structure and days/times) does not list the rake or starting chip stack for the tournaments.

Any information on the poker rooms in Detroit, especially their tournaments, would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure where in Ohio you are. But in the Columbus area there are many poker clubs that have nighly tournaments and cash games.

Best option IMO is Nicks Shark Tank.

If you are closer to the southwest side of the state, check out Hollywood in Lawrenceburg IN. They have a top notch poker room.

I have played at all 3 in Detroit and I would rate the clubs as well as Hollywood higher than Detroit.

Also, the clubs are rake free.

Thanks jhill for the reply. I now live in the Toledo area, which is why I initially asked about the Detroit rooms (an hour or less drive). After your response I checked to see if there were any "clubs" in the Toledo area and was able to find a charity poker room right across the border in Michigan only 10 minutes from my house. I do have some additional questions/comments, but think it might be a good idea to start a brand new thread specifically about the clubs in the poker forum in case the poker folks on here don't check this forum.
