    My Trip Report

    Palazzo May 09th - 12th

    Flight
We flew on Southwest early morning from Orlando and landed in Las Vegas at 8:55 am. We find this to be the best time to travel from the East Coast.

    Palazzo
We had many offers up and down the Strip including an offer from Venetian/Palazzo so we decided to do Palazzo this time since we’ve stayed at Venetian before. It’s one more Resort we can now cross off our bucket list.

Being it was very early there was not a room available but I didn’t feel like waiting on one. They offer an early morning check-in fee for an extra $40 a day but they still did not have the room type available that we had requested so I decided to upgrade to the Concierge Level.

Breakfast was from: 7:00 am to 10:00 am so once we dropped our bags off in the room we had about 15 minutes to hit the Concierge before it closed down it’s Breakfast service. Mission Accomplished!

    May 09th / Day 01

    Gambling

After breakfast we did the usual unpacking and freshening up and then went downstairs to claim our Free-Play and hit the Slots. Very quickly we were not feeling any love from either of V/P Casinos so we decided to head over to Wynn which was kind of funny because it reminded me of younger days when a guy would break up with his girlfriend only to be found standing on her door step a few nights later looking for some action.

Not that we’ve broken up with Wynn but sometimes it’s good to see what you’re missing and Wynn did not disappoint.

Sitting side by side we managed to pull several hundred dollars out of a couple of Cash Wheel machines. She did better than me but money is money so we’ll take it. By now it was lunch time so we decided to go to Luxor and eat at T&T’s. Afterwards we played at Luxor for awhile then walked over to Mandalay Bay. We didn’t have much success at either location so we headed back to V/P and played a little more before we turned in early.

    May 10th / Day 02

    Pool
After breakfast we went down to the Pool which was our first time doing so in 25 visits (together) to Las Vegas. There’s a first for everything I guess! I had requested information from you guys a few days before our trip and I received some good information from the VMB Community so I want to thank you all.

We first started out on the Palazzo side because it was in the shade. I may be a Florida Boy but I burn very easily so I wanted to avoid the direct Sun as much as possible. I was surprised how shallow the pools were. But it was good because I could still enjoy the pool while keeping my Contact Lenses in and wearing my Hat and Sunglasses. Later we moved to the Venetian side for a little bit of Sun and after about 2 hours we were done.

    Caesars
After hanging by the pool (for the life of me while typing this) I cannot remember what we did next. I’m sure we ate somewhere and maybe gambled some but what I do know is at some point we both rested up and got dressed to go to Caesars to see Brooks and Dunn and Reba.

We did not know many of their songs but we enjoy good music and especially great musicians. So no Lip-syncing, no Synthesizers, no Drum Machines and no Auto-Tune! Just real Music and Entertainment. Both Kix and Reba were pretty funny. Ronnie is too but he’s a little more reserved. Afterwards we did not stay at Caesars we headed straight over to Bellagio.

    Bellagio
We played a few machines together “Tag Teaming” them to see how well we would do. But then we went off on our own separate ways (which we do quite often) keeping in touch through Text Messages. She found a Siberian Storm machine which was: $12.50 Max Bet per Pull. She had remembered this game from a Cruise Ship we were on once so she decided to give it a try and she ended up winning over $1,500.00 in a short time. So she was happy to have found that machine and after she filled out the W2G Form we decided it was getting late and so we headed back to Palazzo and called it a night.

    May 11th / Day 03

    Spa and Pool
I woke up early and went down to the Spa by 6:15 am because I like the peace and quite that early in the morning. The last time I was at Canyon Ranch was in 2010 so it was nice to be able to use the facility again. After about an hour and a half I texted to say I was on my way back to the room which is code for WAKE UP!!!!!

Once back to the room she was up and ready to go so we decided to skip the Concierge Breakfast this morning and go to Grand Lux Cafe instead. Afterwards (as we did the day before) we went down to the Pool again and did about the same thing, hanging in the shade for a little bit then the Sunny side and back to the Shade. When we went back to the room I guess the larger breakfast combined with the Sunny Activities made us tired so we slept for a few hours. Once we woke up we walked around the Canal Shoppes for awhile then we walked back over to Wynn to eat lunch at ZooZa Crackers.

After lunch we walked around Wynn because she was on a Mission to find another Siberian Storm… And she did! This one was: $16.50 Max Bet per Pull and after maybe $200 she hit another Win of over $1,200.00. And of course she had another W2G form to fill out.

    Planet Hollywood
After another successful win we went back up to our room to get cleaned up and then we went over to Planet Ho to see Lionel Richie in concert who I’ve wanted to see for years and now I had my chance! All I will say is WOW! The man looked and sounded great! He’s a funny guy too! But what an Entertainer! He was so loose up there on stage and made it look so effortless! He really seemed to enjoy himself. And every song he performed was like an Encore! And of course he did some Commodores songs too so it was almost like 2 Concerts in one! Wow!

And just like the night before we skipped Planet Ho and walked straight over to Aria where she found another Siberian Storm and planted herself. I wasn’t doing so well so I let her do her magic and I went and grabbed us a couple of Slices of Pizza. YUM!

She pulled about $600 out of one machine and a few hundred out of another so all in all she won well over $4,000.00 on this trip from Wynn, Bellagio and Aria so she was very happy and that makes me happy!

    May 12th

    Flight Home
The flight home was delayed at the gate for about an hour and then they were delayed some more before push back in order to escort a passenger off the flight for being drunk. He was grabbing at people walking past him wanting to talk to them about fishing... Haha! Plus he was a tall guy sitting in the Emergency Exit aisle. The Flight Attendant said she had to take his size into consideration in case he was to become out of control during the flight so that was another reason he was escorted off. I overheard her say he could sober up and take another flight later that day.

A lady had put her small child in the center seat next to mine and funny thing she never came by once to check on him. Poor little guy fell asleep and used me as a Pillow... Haha! At one point he woke up and then he laid his head on the tray table.

    Fun Trip!

Great TR! Makes me want to try your wife's strategy on slots! Thanks for the good info on Lionel Richie's show, longtime fan, will add this to our 'next show to see' later this year. We don't have luck on V/P slots either - wish they would loosen them up a bit - cause we stay there occasionally and play just enough to get offers and do most of our slots elsewhere.

The little child story hurts my heart - can't believe the 'mom' never checked on the child - we have given up our seats together several times so a parent could sit with their child.

The one at Bellagio was a .25 cent game with 50 lines. It was fixed so the Max and Min were the same amount $12.50.
The one at Wynn was a Multi Game of .01 cent, .02 cent or .05 cent at either 65 Lines X 5 Credits or 50 Lines X 5 Credits.
She played the .05 Cents @ 65 Credits X 5 Lines for the Max Bet of $16.25. Aria was a .01 cent but not sure of the Max Bet.

Thanks! I think V/P just has a poor selection of Slots.

    Great trip report, mdee.
We're on a road trip to the Palazzo tomorrow. We'll be sauntering over to Wynn/Country Club for some
delicious Jazz Club Brunch action around noon. Should make a nice base layer for all the cocktails
consumed til we win the big one. Life is good in Sin City.

    Congrats on your wife's wins!

Nice report and nice wins! And first pool in 25 trips? I'm forced to go to the pool every trip where it's logical! :bang:

I would be annoyed about that trip home. That shouldn't take an hour. And fishing? Weird. I was buzzed on the plane last trip due to a last minute push at the bartops, but I maintained...lol

Great trip report. Thanks for sharing. Wow, awesome luck on Siberian Storm. I play those all the time at Bellagio. I'm never that lucky as they usually beat the snot out of me :).

Great report and sounds like you had a fun time. Congrats on the nice slot hits as they always seem to put an extra bounce in ones step for sure. Palazzo is such a nice property but I have never had much luck there in the past but it has always been a fun and relaxing place to gamble at. Hope you are able to go back out again very soon. Thanks again for the report.

Thanks for the TR -- going to give V/P some slot love when I'm there and hope for the best.

By the way, I may have missed this but where were you getting bfast every morning? I'm trying to plan a light itinerary for my trip but I may have to reduce the exploration to quick walks to local casinos (Wynn and Linq) because I hear June is insanely hot. I feel bad for the guest that's coming with me as they've never been to Vegas before and this will be my third time. I'm not keen on playing tour guide lol

We ate on the Concierge Level. It's nothing fancy. It's a mini Buffet of Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Cereal, Croissants, Bagels, Muffins, Coffee & Juice.
