Right. Are PCS on-site? Are they customer facing employees and sit at host office?

For CET, their PCS level is on site but usually not in office. I have friends with them that have had them visit them on the floor to say hi. I can't say for sure on MGM as my experience is less there.

I have burned CET enough that my Asian marketing freeplay is down to $200.

Well that's shocking, I've never seen an Asian offer under $500 for CET Vegas.

See, there are two things about this that slightly puzzle me. The first is that that amount of FP seems not to align with my modest theo. The second is that I am not Asian, either by birth or ethnicity.

Pretty sure my PCS isn't on site. The guys on Crap Vegas talk about their PCS being very good, but never mentioned anything about meeting him.

Hah! Is perhaps your last name one that might be construed as being Asian?

You don't need to answer my question. I know people who got put into Asian marketing when they weren't for having the last name 'Lee'.

Correction. My PCS was able to get me the comp value on the room and Madonna tickets for a trip she booked. My offer didn’t include RC, so the comp value of the room and tickets is helpful for gauging backend comp expectations.

@OlyPhotog - my gut tells me that she is not on property.

After my last trip in November at Excalibur I had a PCS reach out to me that next trip I was in town to let him know and he'd see what he could do for me. Our play for that trip was higher then our last few and we hit a tier multiplier the one day(Not sure if that was what flagged us). My offers for presidents weekend was an average of around $150 a night for that weekend on the MGM app. After emailing him he asked if our play would be similar to last trip. I replied that it would be and he told me he could comp me in a standard room at either Excal or Luxor for those nights. So this is a case where he was able to do better then our marketing offers. For most of our trips we would stay downtown the first two nights then end our trip for a night or two on the strip. Usually we'd be gambled out and not play as much the last day so our comp nights were only for weeknights. Haven't been happy with our DTG offers so we're shifting more of our play to low end strip properties and for the summer staying somewhere else downtown.

So I think I now have some hard info on the difference between the two.
I actually had a nice, long, sit down discussion about the rewards program and comps and maximizing my value as a player with a host on my recent trip.
This particular host was quite forthcoming with what I could or could not be comped, and on the subject of Bruno Mars tickets actually turned the computer monitor around so I could see a spreadsheet with a scanned copy of my drivers license on the bottom and color-coded cells with concert dates.
The green-yellow-red colors corresponded to levels of offers where green were easy, yellow were “appropriate” and red were above my play range but available with host discretion. Red in this case would mean a pair of banquet-seating tickets that had an internal value of $600 each. I was told these would be offered in addition to my corporate offer, rather than in place of it.
I was also given very specific info on room rates when I mentioned my unfortunate experience In January (when a host on duty informed me that the room I could have booked for $2800 cash had a comp value of over $7K as his reason to deny me any backend comps to cover about $800 in meals)
The internal comp rates this host showed me off a “cheat-sheet” were quite a bit below the consensus range I read about here. (Like 1/3 list price, rather than the 2/3 I see mentioned)
There was plenty more we talked about in terms of backend calculations etc, but for one final comparison between a PCS and an actual host, I asked both about participating in an upcoming tournament-

PCS offer: 2 nights in a base sky suite room, $250 RC and tournament entry, limo transfer, but I would forgo my corporate offer.

Host offer: 4 nights in a Horizon Suite, full corporate offer ($1900 FP, $800 RC) boost RC an extra $400 to match best RC offer from lower tier properties, VIP penthouse lounge access, limo transfer and tournament entry.

Needless to say, I’m going with door #2….

    Data point

I was assigned a PCS when I set up a credit line with Aria last month. Prior to even setting foot in the casino she reached out to me and offered a comped room with some FP/RC. At the end of the trip I shot her an email to thank her for setting everything up, and without me asking I received an updated folio with all my charges wiped. Two night trip, and around $600 charged to the room separate from the RC.

Reached out to her for a recent trip and she was able to put me in a better room along with higher FP/RC than my corporate offer. During this trip I was assigned an executive host that I got to meet in person. When I mentioned I already had a PCS, he told me not to bother with them anymore and go directly to him. Up until that point I thought my PCS was a host, in a traditional sense. While there, I set up my next trip and promptly got an email confirmation the next day, no mention of FP/RC, but I didn't ask.

Unless the host is able to substantially increase my FP/RC from my corporate offer, I really see no difference other than being able to meet with him face to face. I was completely satisfied with my PCS and actually enjoyed the fact that everything was somewhat anonymous.

It's been around 7+ years since I gambled, and only reached Pearl with MGM during that time. Was loyal to Caesars had a host there.
