that’s good to hear! that is really messed up traffic as I take flamingo the time making the right has turned into a nightmare with that bridge there. Plus as you’re waiting in line to turn. It’s a little bit sketchy on that corner

The driver I use in Vegas says he wished it stayed, as going over the bridge has helped flow of traffic, in his opinion. I'm just glad it'll be done b4 I'm there on Feb. 6.

F1, the gift that keeps on taking.

As with many things F1, the talk over the permanent bridge is likely to be a nasty fight. Better for traffic, but would kill a business or two, and adversely affect others.

I'd guess they might need to buy out some of those businesses to make it a permanent overpass or underpass?

Seems like a lot of poor traffic planning from F1 and the city.

I'm wondering if I'll need extra time to get to the airport on the 22nd.

They should build permanent bridges over Las Vegas Boulevard.

When do they have to start building it again for next years race. Seems like a waste to me, but then I am not taking it down or building it.

Back in November, the week before the race, Flamingo was a real mess in both directions East of Las Vegas Blvd. Not sure what they were doing but it was all torn up. Traffic totally sucked. We were going to head over to Ellis Island for dinner but skipped that because it would have been hell in both directions from the HGVC timeshare behind the Flamingo. So we walked over to Giordanos for pizza instead.

They were removing the temporary bridge at the Flamingo/Koval junction this week which should restore things to the normal level of hold-ups.

As of Monday this week still blocked completely. We were dropping the wife off at Westin for pampering and wanted to go to Ellis Island and said screw it

I'm not sure if I should bother going to the Flamingo if Flamingo Road East of the Strip is still screwed up.... Is there any way to bypass Flamingo? Such as back streets over by the Linq and the Wheel?

Yes, you can sneak in the back of that complex via Sands/Koval. About any street that runs west from Koval will take you to the rear of the casinos.

(They sure took their sweet time getting that "temporary" bridge outa there!)

Best way to get to Ellis Island right now is to take Harmon down instead of Flamingo, and then you can get to Koval northbound.

My recollection is that they spent some time screwing around because there was some talk about making that overpass permanent, and for a little while they were thinking about just leaving the "temporary" one up.

dmr & 44inarow, thanks for the info. I'll just sneak around the back way if I decide to go over to the Flamingo or Harmon to get to Ellis Island if I decide to get dinner over there..

The removal of the temporary bridge at Flamingo and Koval is complete as of this morning. I drove through the intersection this morning and traffic was running smoothly.

    That's what? Three months?

IIAC (I was not there to witness it) it took them far less to build that "temporary" bridge than to remove it.

The bridge was left up to run a traffic study to see if they should build a permanent one

That poor gas station! When I walked that way Sunday night, the owner?/worker was out sweeping the lot. Once again, no way in or out!
