What is the easiest way to get from South strip to Lotus of Siam without a rental car? I'm reading so much about it here, I must go experience it!

We might visit DT one day - so maybe tell me from there too?

The easiest would be a Taxi.

So it's that far huh? I was thinking if we took the bus to DT - is there a stop along the way where we could get off and walk to it...

It's roughly 3/4 of a mile off the strip, kinf of behind the Riv. You don't say exactly where you are coming from but from the MGM it's about 4 miles. You could take the bus down the strip and get off by the Riv and walk the rest. From downtown hop on the bus heading down LV BLVD , about 5-6 miles or so.

Easiest way would be taking taxi. But if you are looking at bus transportation, best to go up (north) the strip, then get off at the intersection of sahara and lvb and take the Sahara express (SX) bus and get off at 953 E Sahara Ave, where Lotus of Siam is located (in a strip mall).

Make sure you check the Lotus of Siam location on google maps street view as the restaurant isn't visible from sahara ave and there are no signs indicating the restaurant from sahara. I had a car and drove around a few times before I found the restaurant.

Of course you could walk it, it is probably a half to 3/4 miles from sahara ave to get to the place.

Their prices went up so they aren't a great deal that they were a few years ago. They had a good lunch buffet that was rated good and cheap but since they got busier they raised their prices.

Is it in a shady area?

Not really, although I wouldn't walk around the area at night (except to the bus stop). There is a pool hall in the complex in addition to an adult club (green door I think). There is an Asian market in the complex also.

During the daytime the place is very safe to walk around IMHO.

The reason I mentioned to check google street view is because restaurant is in a "shopping complex" but unlike the strip malls where you can see the store from the street you only see a wall from sahara ave. I passed by it a few times before I realized that the restaurant is on the inside of the complex.
