I watched them work on a higher floor back in December. I don't remember much in the case of the steel beams, but they were using excavators with a jack hammer attachment to break the floor loose, then a bobcat would pick up the rubble and move it into a box container, then a crane would lower the box to the ground. It took them about 6 days to remove one floor.

I watched them for a while one day at eye level. They somehow "grabbed" the glass with a crane and pulled it into the floor beneath, one sheet at a time. What they did after that I couldn't say.

The Cosmopolitan should be paying City Center a convenience fee, since basically every room in the east tower facing south got a room strip view upgrade.

I wouldn't say it was a bigger mistake than the development of the Fontainebleu.

Almost gone! There are no more above ground floors remaining.

This is from the 59th floor of the Cosmo West Side tower.

Where does that underground ramp on the left-hand side go down to?

Oh man...they're really almost done. By the time we get there it should be all gone, I suppose.

I agree. Harmon itself wasn't a mistake. The mistake was poor engineering and construction. That doesn't happen, it completes the City Center development and there'd be (IMO) a beautiful tower there.

I would assume either the parking garage, or a loading dock type area.

True, but it was still non-gaming hotel so I'm not sure what it would have offered the average visitor who wasn't staying there. If MGM is smart they can use this to their advantage and create some kind of grand entrance / gateway to CityCenter.

Dang, I am coming in next week. Would love if that cramped, boarded up walkway would be gone. Nothing like a hotbox walk between Cosmo and Aria.

Weather is finally cooling down here. I almost thought about putting on a sweater last night.
