Thank you VMB for suggesting Bavette's in so many steak threads. The chicago ribeye was fantastic, as were the buttery mashed potatoes! Sorry for the dark photos, but that's the ambiance there.
My bride and minions treated me to a taste of home with a Father’s Day visit to Big Dog’s Draft House on Rancho. The cheese curds and bratwurst were excellent—and good practice for our upcoming trip to WI. RICHARD
Partage 7 course tasting menu. Manhattan (probably a mistake after video poker at sports book bar at Mandalay before dinner and why I can’t remember all the dishes). Highlight was the quail and farro salad. Wagyu and dessert were also great.
We were near W Charleston & Jones and hungry so we tried Farm Basket for lunch today. The chicken was good. I’ll try the turkey next time! RICHARD
I’ve been slacking on this thread so let’s start fixing that: Din Tai Fung at Aria: Spicy noodles, good, not spectacular Chicken and Korbuta Pork Xiao Long Bao: first trip they were disappointing compared to the reputation, with not enough broth, but this last trip was much better and these really do live up to the hype, I'll chalk the first time up to a fluke And the definite star of the show twice: spicy wontons, so good that we each got our own order in addition to splitting some XLB
Al Pastor tacos ($21), enchiladas ($20+), & shrimp fajitas ($30+) from Chayo in the Linq. Also had guac and chips ($15). Everything was delicious, albeit pricey.
