I like this thread... couple places mentioned that I'd not previously heard of, but will try. Fish & Chips is my FAVORITE!!! I still like Crown & Anchor British Pub (Tropicana/Maryland), Lazy Joe's on Rainbow (if you like a corn-mealy kinda batter) and really like Scooter's Pub (Rainbow just north of the 215).

I will have to disagree with the post on Gordon Ramsey's. It is expensive but the quality is top notch. Lightly battered and super fresh fish. Tater sauce was homemade and fantastic. I just asked for extra. The fries were crispy and seasoned. If you want that heavy beer batter this is not for you. If you want fresh fish with a lightly seasoned tempura batter this is you place. Start with a shrimp cocktail and you will not be disappointed.

Another vote for Todds English Pub at Aria/Crystals. Admittedly, I'm not a fan of fish and chips, but hubby is, so we always go there when staying at Aria. He has the fish and chips and I get to have a wonderful chicken pot pie....it has the absolute flakiest crust! :)

One-half pound of beer battered Icelandic cod, fries and peas. $10.95

I have a friend here in Denver who also swears by Captain D's. :) I've gotta try it some day.

Ramsey's fish & chips -- Absolutely! Pretty darn good! Liked the freshness of them. Great flavors - and great service! So totally agree!

if thats part of the Firkin group from England (and it looks like it is) then my prior experiences of the chain would indicate that it'll be firkin good.

and the t-shirts will be good :D

the location on Paradise indicates that its aimed at students - and that not wrong.

It could also be an excellent place to go before hitting the airport on the way home....

didn;t see any of their own beers on the list... shame because they used to brew some very good ales. moorish. Its got me in trouble a few times!!

I had surprisingly good fish and chips at Cafe Bellagio during my last trip. I've eaten at and enjoyed Ri Ra and Fulton Street, but the Cafe Bellagio ones were among the best I've had in Vegas (although they do use shoestring fries instead of traditional chips, but I happen to like that better). Wasn't expecting it at all.

THANKS! I bought one and will try it out at the end of the month. Planning that for my first stop when I arrive, on my way downtown.

Hi all how far is the Crown & Anchor from the strip ? I,v heard about this place before, proper english fish (cod) & chips ( not seasond ). That would be great instead of dried up Cat fish which we always seem to end up with.
