That's understandable. For me, the gambling at the high levels has remained the same with decent odds and a good value via comps. My growig disinterest in vegas is rooted mostly in the attitudes and actions of other people (mostly in the casino). Gabling just isn't as entertaining to me as it was years ago (probably because I have done too much of it). Add in the jerks, drunks, and abusive people that have seemd to overpopulate casinos the past couple years, and that's a receipie for me to find other places to spend my vacay dollars.

At least one good thing about RW being pretty dead is that I never had to deal with other jerks in the casino. I ony gambled four sessions (because I stopped after the second text from the host) but I was at a solo table for each of those sessions. The only jerk I encountered was at the BJ tournamet and that only last half an our for me anyway.

@UKFanatic I noticed some positive comments about Resorts World like the Villa, emptiness of casino, restaurants so just curious if you were assigned a different host and someone of importance reached out to you, would you maybe consider another go at RW or is the bridge officially burned? I look forward to your next leg of this trip report and hope it goes more smooth.

Right now, I feel like that bridge is burned. I'm still somewhat distressed by the way the host treated us. Its just not how I do business and its not the kind of person i want to associate with. But I said the same thing many years ago about Aria until I got a better host. So who knows. But right now, I feel like my level of play is just not wanted to receive the higher roller perks. Additionally, even if things went smoothly with the host, I recognized that the High Roller perks are better at other high end resorts (I will try and remember to write about hose comparisons in more detail later). I don't even want to imagine what quality of downgraded perks they typically offer a player at my level. So yeah, there was stuff I liked about RW. But for the money I am risking, there are other resorts that treat their players of my level better in general. Add in the bad experience I endured individually (I assume they don't treat every player at my level like that, even if they are being over-comped) and I don't see any reason to play there again

While this may sound like hersey, I understand your burnout with Vegas. My interest in Vegas ebbs and flows. Right now my wife and I are taking a break after several trips in the last year. We want to do other things and go other places (Greece, Turkey, Miami etc.). Every few years this happens to us. When we broke up with Mlife a few years ago due to host and security issues we experienced at the Delano, we took a similar break. A year later we stayed at the Wynn and we bacame revitalized. I have also stopped worrying about the comp game. While I'm happy about getting a free room for my stay and some resort credit, I will gamble when I feel like it. If I get additional at the end, that is great. If I receive no additional comps or my offers lessen, I'm fine with that as well.

We took about seven months off from Vegas before returning this summer. I was fine with no longer visiting, but I know my partner really missed the restaurants and spas (which I still like too). But after this weekend, she saw the stress I dealt with and I think she's ready too for a much longer Vegas break after the trip upcoming this weekend

Not to hijack but I'm in a very similar place right now.
Normally would have had 3 trips in for the year and only been to Vegas one time.
Instead of Vegas trips booked , I have two cruises booked between now and Christmas.
Maybe I just need a change of venue too.
Maybe it's the 9 hours travel from my home plus 3 hours jet lag.
I will be back but taking a break.

Whether it's at your level or somewhere down the food chain, I just have seen much of anything positive about RW. I've seen a few good comments on this part or that, but little overall praise. That host could benefit from a class in remedial customer service. You expect better from the local Taco Bell.

UKfanatic don't sweep this one under the rug. Please complain to the management, etc., we need this cancer of a host removed.
It doesn't matter if you're a high limit or a low limit player, unprofessional and rude people/employees that interacts with the customers
    should never be allowed...ever!

I hear ya, but here's the thing. Unless a worker truly does something reprehensible, I don't like the thought that I might be responsible for getting someone fired. He could have just been having an off day. Hell, maybe his boss told him that's how to handle a player and he was just following instructions. I don't know. So while I don't really want to see him as a host for anybody and he will never garner my business again, I am still uncomfortable with the idea that I might contribute to someone losing their livelihood. If the resort contacted me and asked, I will be honest and tell them. I kind of hope they do reach out. But I doubt I will take the affirmative step of complaining

Completely get your point of view, and it shows you’ve been more than reasonable given the totality of the circumstances (remember this test from LS? lol). I don’t work in customer service, but if I treated my clients this way, I would deserve to lose my job. Things are different in different industries to be fair but there’s being an asshole and then there’s not, I think this situation teetered on the side of the former.

Not to sound like a heartless asshole (which I sort of am, frankly), but if anyone deserves to lose a job in an industry, and based on the limited facts we’ve been able to ascertain that you provided, it’s this individual.

Either way, at least you’ll in all likelihood have a much better time at Disney. Whilst Vegas is an adult Disney World, Disney is, well, Disney lol. And let’s face it, who can’t have a good time at Disney?

We always have a good time at Disney! And now that I have had a couple days to recover form the negative experiences this weekend, I am looking forward to vegas again on Friday. Mainly because we will get to spend the weekend with some friends we rarely see. so it will be fun to catch up

If you are not completely bored reading about the travails of my RW visit last weekend, here is one additional update from this morning: my charges form there this weekend just hit my credit card and they overbilled me! Its only about a hundred bucks, but still, after what I went through this weekend, I decided not to let them get away with it. Called the hotel and spoke to a young man that tried to be helpful, but I don't think he was expecting someone as organized as I am. I have a detailed receipt from when i checked out and that charge appears properly on my card. Then there is a separate charge for the additional amount. he tried to tell me what the additional charge was for. Problem is, his explanation already appeared on the receipt for the properly charged amount. So i politely asked him if they were charging me twice for the same meal? That stumped him. He said I could call the billing department when they open. i asked him to have that department call me. needless to say, I am not confident this dispute gets resolved. So I will report the incorrect charge to my CC company if needed, but the ultimate lesson here: don't stay at Resorts World!!!!!!

Quick little follow up to my last post and hopefully that will be the last word on Resorts World: the billing department at the resort never called me. Not surprised. After what happened last weekend, I didn't expect any follow through from them. So I called my CC bank and they have already contested the charge and removed it from my statement. I hate to take that step, but I also don't appreciate RW trying to take more of money after what happened.

I will try and move on from complaining about RW now and write a couple of the follow ups I promised in the past week

I promised a more details write up on the RW spa and here it is:

I decsribed the spa as a mix between Qua at Canyon Ranch and I stand by that. It uses the same color palatte as Qua and includes the large communal multi-pool area. I also see Canyon Ranch in the design because it includes some similar spa amenities. I will try and walk you through the whole spa.

The locker area is pretty good. Not huge like Aria or Encore, but not cramped like Qua. They have the standard showers and sink areas. Additionally, the mens side has its own (large) whirlpool tub, experience showers (like Canyon Ranch) and steam room. My partner told me the ladies side was the same. There is also a large co-ed area. it includes a small, very bright sitting area. But there is also a darker foot spa area where they will let you sit on loungers and watch one of their many TVs (which, thankfully, are muted). The big feature of the co-ed area are the four communal pools that range from cold to hot. These are the pools that appear in all their promotional materials. They were nice (and much larger than the Roman baths at Qua), but the problem I encountered is that it wasn't really quiet. I think because it was co-ed, groups of people meet up in there. It wasn't truly loud, but it wasn't quiet as I prefer in a spa. They do have a huge image projection onto the wall behind the pools. it shows various scenes of nature. It kind of reminded me of Soarin at Disney, lol.

The co-ed area also includes a lanconium, more experiential showers, and a sauna. The lanconium was a let down. It was large and penty of seats. But there wasn't much, if any, of the typical lanconium smell. The sauna was different. It included a lot of multi color lighting (similar to the salt grotto at Canyon Ranch but much brighter). The problem, though, was that the sauna itself was too hot. And I say that as someone who enjoys a very hot sauna. The co-ed area also has several heated stone loungers. I often like to sit in those and read at Encore, but the lighting was not sufficient here to really read a book.

There was stil and sparkling water available throughout the spa, but no snacks. The treatment rooms were pretty typical and I had a fantastic massage, but that's just because I lucked into a really good therapist and is not necesarrily a reflection of the spa overall.

Ultimately, I would not rank this spa in the top tier of Vegas spas, but I would probably put it in the next tier. I think I would have enjoyed it more had I gone during the week with fewer people there

Quite possible, your reasoning seems to lean towards giving the benefit of the doubt to the "offender"...Kudos to you.... As you alluded to earlier, I would express my concerns through the online survey and suggest that the communication s could have been more "courteous"...
In these types of conflicts, I always remind myself that there is no need for revenge..." the rotten fruits will fall by themselves".... Happy Trails on the next leg of your trip...

Wow, I can't believe they are still charging you for meals after a 6 figure loss. Thought they would cover everything.

Can't wait for you mansion trip report this weekend.

We don’t know the comp value of that villa, but it’s quite significant, I’m certain.

I too am looking forward to Mansion details!

In one of his text rants to me, the host mentioned that the villa retails for 15k a night. And he only gave me $800 F&B upfront (which I thought was light because he knew there were four of us staying in the room, but I also knew I was being overcomped on the villa front). If the circumstances had been different with the host, I would have asked for that last charge (and maybe some others) to be taken care of because of my actual loss. But I really didn't want to have any additional communication with him. There is no way I am ever going back again and working with him

Interesting that he revealed that, I would've guessed $20k, but good to know.

And I agree with you 1000%, unless a loss rebate was negotiated in advance, and given everything that transpired, I wouldn't want any further communication either.

On a brighter note, I've seen some great TRs on The Mansion, have never stayed, and am looking forward to your insights on it!
