    Hello Again,

Well, I was all set to go see the Elvis impersonator show at the El Cortez Sat. Oct. 26th but a person on this board reminded me of the Life is Beautiful festival downtown, and I would expect downtown to be a zoo. '

And I doubt getting in to the El Cortez would be easy, let alone see the show.

I am seeing Big Elvis at Harrah's but do any of you wonderful people know of another Elvis impersonator show that is good?

I realize one Elvis show should be enough, but since this is a solo trip, it would be fun to see another one, just to compare, I guess.:)

    Thanks..:nworthy:

K-9, I also like Trent's version of Elvis and it is worth a trip. However, I looked at the Life is Beautiful list of performers and doubt many will be migrating to El Cortez. If you happen to be downtown I would give it a try. It is a fun time, totally small-time and free.

    Hi XmarksX,

I was really wanting to see the Free Elvis show at the El Cortez and since the El Cortez may not be jammed with people, I will probably give it a try.

I have heard from others on this board, that it is a really good show.

What is the Life is Beautiful festival about? I looked it up, but just saw their web site selling tickets and listing bands that were playing.

Thank you so much for the info on the El Cortez and the Elvis show.

Elvis Show at the El Cortez

    Hi Everyone,

I just got off the phone from the El Cortez and they confirmed that there will be no problem seeing their Elvis show Sat. Oct. 26th due to the Life is Beautiful festival, that is downtown.

The person I spoke to, said parking is very limited and you had to show a wristband from the festival if you wanted to park. But that was the only thing effected by the festival. Other than the crowds. LOL

She even told me to enter from the hotel side to avoid some of the crowds.

So, anyone wanting to see the FREE Elvis show will not have any problem getting in the casino. Yeah.

Hope this post helps other members who may have been wondering.

    I know I was. LOL

    Kindly,
    K-9treatbaker

K-9 I have watched the show at El Cortez a number of times, mostly just watching from the rail outside of the lounge. It's campy and most of the folks watching in the lounge are retirement age.

As for Life is Beautiful, if I had to bet I would wager you will see a pretty heavy percentage of folks with multiple piercings, hair colors/styles, with a dazed-and-confused look upon their face. I imagine the wristband cost might keep some of the extreme freakazoids away.
