Cromwell (or any hotel) eKey app?

    I am going to Vegas in a few weeks and staying at The Cromwell and got an e-mail from them confirming everything. In the email they said I can use the eKey app on my phone to unlock my room. I have never heard of this, has anyone else used it? I am not sure how much of a big deal it is since lugging around a hotel room card key isn't that much of a burden and I really don't know how it works. Any thoughts?
