    No smoking!

Free water bottles! (I know some places do it)

Also sound proofing the hotels! I've been running into loud parties at a lot of places lately. Whatever maybe I'm a party pooper, but I don't stay up till 4 am, and I shouldn't be penalized for that. Especially at the 5 star hotels, no excuse for that.

More efficient, less sketchy transportation options.. it's kinda ridiculous you have to cab it everywhere. Realistically I want a monorail from the airport to every hotel on the strip, that's free or included in your resort fee or something. I'm actually surprised they don't have such a thing.
I also would build a bullet train from LA as well, because I'm selfish, and I'd go every weekend.

I have to say it, the damn resort fees! I don't care, I'll pay $28 more dollars for my room. Just don't make me do math. Though I will admit I get duped every time with the low rates haha. Maybe they are on to something. I just booked a room for $56 then realized it's gonna be about a $100 a night not really $56 haha.

I wish they'd be more realistic about the consumers. All the really really really high end stuff seems pointless to me. Is Joe Schmoe from Idaho really gonna eat every $500 meal at the Bellagio and go shopping at Tiffany? No. Come on. It's a trick because room rates are so low. But hell, I can afford a room at Bellagio, but I still can't afford a Hermes handbag or dinner at Picasso.

There aren't enough interesting dining options for you?

In the past 5 years properties have been dumbing down their dining options. A good example of this phenomenon is Wynn. They've basically gutted their best restaurants. There are exceptions but most new restaurant openings are something like upscale burger joints and existing restaurants are making less ambitious food.

Don't get me wrong, you can get a good meal on the strip, but generally the options aren't very interesting. Years ago Las Vegas was an up and coming food destination, but that isn't the case anymore.

    Re...

If I could change one thing... I would have the powers at be quit trying to spruce up all the dives

I like my gambling old school, low ceilings, smokey, loud, gritty think Western, Sahara, lvc, old plaza, gold spike etc....

    Save the dive casinos!

1.) 24 hour monorail moved to middle of strip, connects to airport and FSE.
2.) Moving sidewalks all along the strip (one looong one on each side)
This would solve a lot of problems...because then no one could "setup shop" as the sidewalk would be constantly moving!

Ohh yeah, get all of the third world employees out of Nevada...but that won't EVER happen.

I would love this so much.

I really hated all of the dressed up characters getting their picture taken for tips and taking up valuable sidewalk space. There was a Hello Kitty who kept lifting her head every time someone tried to take her picture without paying her (to ruin the picture) and one lady (although I use that term loosely) dressed as a show girl was screaming at people "you better pay me if you're going to take my picture!".

Hell. Bally's couldn't keep their 100 foot moving sidewalk working half the time. No way a strip long one would work.

    1. No kids at all on Casino floor. Even if they're just 'walking through'. Have special isles and hallways for them. That way you eliminate the problem of Mommy and Daddy playing while junior is told to keep walking around.

    2. While we're at having special isles and hallways for kids, make another one for people who continue to walk one direction, but constantly look in another. One of these days I'm just going to stop walking, stick out my fist and watch some idiot break his jaw on my stationary knuckles.

Can't believe I read all this and didn't find...

... full pay video poker everywhere.

Reading these posts it seems like they have put quite an effort into screwing up Vegas! De-theming, raping the gambling, sidewalk characters, dress codes gone, etc.

Better gambling conditions and better comps for the low roller. I know it's a business and they have to make their money but they never seemed to have any problems in the old days.

Agree with all who have mentioned quick and easy transport (monorails/trams in front of the hotels, ala MB/Luxor/Excalibur, not in the back!) on the strip and to/from the airport and Fremont. It's such a pain to get from one place to another!

So you'd be cool, as an owner or operator, with the millions in lost revenue? For some reason, this is what I think of whenever anyone posts "Get rid of the pools/dayclubs/jeans/shorts/flipflops/hiphop":

It's a wishful thinking thread, not a list of good business moves. I wish slotzilla would get torn down yesterday but I'm sure it'll bring in more bucks and butts than without it.

Get rid of the clubs. I'm sick of worrying about where to stay that I'll actually be able to sleep at night.

I would agree with many on here, no kids, no night club pass guys etc, widen the walkways and lower the percentage the casinos take on poker buy ins!

One I haven't read yet...I would like to see a return of the 24/7 cafes. I like to eat when I'm in Vegas, but I can't always do the top of the line and I don't always want to do a food court option. The cafes at any time of the day give you that in between option, specifically late night/early morning.

This is a fun thread, lots of interesting posts. Add me to the list of those that would like to either see the elimination of resort fees, or more likely, just add them in to the price. I don't understand why no one does that.

I often wonder after reading about everyone and their whole no kid hangup in Vegas, if there is like a Disney Message Board and kids are on there saying how they'd eliminate all crabby ass adults from Disney World/Land. :evillaugh

I would like to add a some new ones to the list.

Get rid of the non gamblers.

Get rid of the ones that use their undergarments as toilets.

Get rid of the miserable ones who think that Vegas isn't open 24 hours

Get rid of any hotels that stink. Either inside or outside.

Get rid of the obnoxious alcoholics that try to gamble

Get rid of the ugly CWs

Bring back the class that Vegas once was

There is more but I will leave that for others in the group

Definitely no kids, and more emphasis on gambling.
