Blackjack conditions at Maryland Live are awful now

Was there last weekend and peeked in. Looks like a whole row of video poker tables (though could be any digital game really) facing a wall of TVs. Maryland won’t have sports gaming until at least after the 2020 election cycle (already nixed from the 2018 ballot before the SCOTUS decision came down), but it looked like they left it open to a quick conversion once it gets passed.

Don’t know that game but my immediate assumption if it’s $5 min is that it either requires 3+ bets or the player only has reasonable edge at 3+ bets.

 

Just walked by and peeked. 7 bet slots. Not sure if required for all, but upwards of $35 per hand possible in play at $5 min. Also, curtain is down and the old poker room is now functioning for the baccarat/blackjack/roulette digital machines + new slots. Finally, looks like they’ve put in another pit with lower limit tables (CSM and all that) but right under TVs playing sports.

MGMNH up 10.3 pct

State up 6.9 pct
Horseshoe B-More down 1.6 pct
Live! up 7.1 pct
MGMNH up 10.3 pct

 

October 2018 numbers out. State gaming revenues increased 18.6 pct over October 2017, which made it the best month ever in Maryland, inching out May 2018. MD gaming revenues a little shy of $158 million in October.

Horseshoe up a healthy 7.1 pct
Live! up a decent 2.6 pct
And the big kahuna, MGMNH. A 41.4 pct increase over October 2017. MGMNH brought in over $73 million in October. Simply...…..wow!
