I know most folks here play table games and not slots, but I was wondering if you had to choose a strip casino with the biggest non smoking section for slots only, which one would you choose?

I know no section will be completely smoke free and the majority of people smoke. In AC, some of the non smoking sections are a joke with a smoking section like two feet from the non smoking section so the smoke still comes over.

I guess also which casinos would you guys say have the best filtering system?

I don't recall seeing a specified non-smoking area at Aria but the high ceilings and good ventilation systems doesn't make the gaming area stink of cigarettes/cigars.

I don't know if there's a non smoking section or not, but the Tropicana seems to have one of the best filtration systems on the Strip. I can't really smell any smoke whenever I'm there. The smoke in most casinos usually gets to me, so I often make it a point to stop by the Trop for some semi-smoke-free gambling.

This may sound crazy....but the largest areas for smoke free slots in Vegas is at the airport.

Now, if you want to go to Laughlin, that Harrah's has one side of the casino which is totally smoke free

Our past trip to Vegas was our first trip to Vegas as non smokers (Dec 5-9th), and we did manage to hit up a nice few casinos and give everyone a little play.

We were smokers for 20+ years, so not being a smoke I paid particular attention to the presence of smoke in each casino, here are my coles notes:

The three worse places (from our experience a few weeks ago) were:
    1. Flamingo, could not smell the smoke, but you could certainly feel it on the eyes
    2. Cosmo (visibly very smokey and kinda stank)
    3. Caesars smell and eyes.

The best places (barely noticed the smokes) were:
    1. Bellagio
    2. Wynn/Encore
    3. Venetian

Palazzo used to have a NS section. I don't know of it's still there. I'm a smoker and I sat at slot machine and lit up. Then I realized there were no ashtrays anywhere. I finally saw the teeny tiny non smoking sign so cashed my tito and left that area. I felt really bad, but if they're gonna have a NS section they need better signage.

If you don't like smoke don't plan to spend a lot of time at Harrahs. The smoke there even bothers me. It doesn't help that in some spots there the ceilings there are very low.

I believe Palazzo has one, at least there was a sign for it yesterday. Nobody else does. Regardless that's a good one for less smoking, it's SO big with high ceilings it's more comfortable to gamble. Any of the newer, high end resorts are the best. Or the places with large casinos (Mandalay Bay is pretty pleasant as well)

Stay away from places like Flamingo, Quad, Harrah's. But it's pretty hard to avoid it anywhere to be honest

The smoke in the casinos really did a job on me last week. There were times when my sinuses were burning from the smoke. I got on the airplane Thursday and my throat felt strange. I had a dry hacking cough. Now I am dealing with a bad head cold. That smoke is no joke.
I wish casinos had non-smoking areas. But, I doubt that will ever happen.

Exactly. I mean it just sucks. Not much you can do about it besides just deal with it. Try gambling in the morning too. A few days I was out at like 9am gambling, and there isn't anyone down there, definitely more pleasant. Or on my last trip we ended up not gambling so much, and we stayed at a non-smoking hotel and overall that was more pleasant. But yea, I still wake up feeling like crap haha.

It's funny--I think I was there nearly the exact same time, and I remember commenting to my traveling companion that Vegas seemed much less smoky than I remembered. Even Ellis Island didn't seem smoky.

On a trip to some properties I'd never visited, I did notice a non-smoking slot section at the LVH, of all places.
