I wonder if the State Department's travel advisory is impacting bookings

Also at the airport closest to Nassau, you go through US Customs at the airport as opposed to Miami, Atlanta or elsewhere . The last time I went through there, the most confiscated items were oversized bottles of liquor ( there was at least a 4 L bottle of Grey Goose that someone mistakenly thought would be OK to bring home as a souvenir) and large containers of suntan lotion and other drugstore items.

I was at Atlantis in November and I posted a trip report here for that as well. Something I want to add is be very careful about using credit cards and also when you room charge. I had 3 false charges charged to my room because they do not require ID to room charge and a few times they didn't even ask my name, only my room number. The charges under $100 the front desk removed immediately but there was a $200 charge at a restaurant that the front desk said they had to start an investigation and 2 days later they removed the charge. Also one time I used a credit card at the Deli in the marina and 2 months later that credit card had a charge from the Deli for $50. I just disputed with the credit card company and that was removed eventually as well. Also, after I checked out of my room and everything was good, I find out that night that there was another false charge to my room account that was added after i checked out and it took 2 weeks for Atlantis to remove the charge from my credit card.

One time while doing a room charge at Shake Shack I noticed an employee writing down my room number and name. A lot of employees are very shady and they share this information with their friends to room charge later. One time at the ice cream shop at the marina there's a big sign that says cash not accepted, but this local guy ordered an ice cream cone and at the cash register he said he didn't have any money, the manager said give me the cone back, but the local guy turned around and asked if anyone could help him out and when no one said anything he handed the cone to the manager who threw it in the trash. There's also a lot of locals at the water park because they get a discount so definitely watch your valuables.

I gambled this trip so I didn't have to worry about the play requirement but when I went in 2017 a host called my room and asked me why I wasn't gambling and then when I went to use the free play he showed up at the machine to ask me why I haven't been playing. I just told him i didn't have plans to play much this trip and he eventually left me alone.

Food is expensive but during my most recent trip I realized its basically the same price as restaurants where I live in San Diego. The Royal Poseidon buffet was about $50-60 a person which is about right because it was a decent and quality buffet I thought.

In my experience you need your name, room number, AND room key to make room charges at Atlantis. They swipe the key at point of sale. That feels pretty secure to me. I have never had any problems but I do know others that have.

When was the last time you were there. I was never asked for a room key, they only asked for my name about 50% of the time and never asked for ID.

I'll echo this statement. If there is something you want to do, do it during the day. At 5:00 PM, a lot closes down, even at the resort. For a large part of the year, the waterpark even closes at 5. During my last visit, which was admittedly a while ago, the only evening/ night resort activities were gambling and nightclubs. So, you may want to save your gambling for the evening, or you may get bored.

I'd recommend the pirate museum. Its a lot of fun. If you want a good meal, cigar, or chocolate, go to Graycliff Hotel. They are owned by cigar company- Best cigar I've ever had, and the food and chocolate get great reviews.

We're using this guy for our upcoming trip, he had some good recommendations on a FB group for Baha Mar. $100 RT to the resort.

Thanks for ideas. We have early AM flight out of YYZ tomorrow. Forecast looks good if a bit cloudy but, that’s ok. We have Zero plans! No reservations! We have both been so busy the last month. Going online today to see what we can find. Bringing small bankroll and outside of walking, lounging and taking things nothing expected. Four days sleeping under a Cabana sounds good to me!

tried booking airport shuttle but, somehow wouldn’t except Canadian postal code on booking page. Will probably just go with cab.

    Will report back next week!

Thought I would report in on our last evening!

Got up at 3am to make our early flight out arriving @11am in Nassau. Ended up getting shuttle and zero issues. Much cheaper than cab.

Since we were early, we checked our bags grabbed a light lunch at Plato and toured around.

at 3pm, got our room exhausted. Room, nothing special in west Royal, two queens , small tub with shower. No nuttin! We decided on a nap before resuming day. Woke up briefly at 6, 12 and then 4!!!! Crazy but we both needed it.

Saturday, breakfast at Deli, then hung out at pool most of day. Lunch was Shake Shack - only 20 ft from pool chairs.

Headed to Marina for dinner at??? And had some shrimp and grouper salad. Quite enjoyed. Evening was casino time. BJ all $25 and up, one craps at $15 then higher. No cheap 5c 10c ux on floor. Found some single line 25c game king. Discovered later bar had 2 or 3 5/10c ux but drinks weren’t comped.

Sunday AM was cab into town to see straw market and cruise area. Unless I feel a desire to be accosted by vendors every ten feet, one and done.

took the shuttle to the Ocean Course for lunch and to depress myself I wasn’t playing - next time. Light lunch, ok , nothing special but sitting outside enjoying view.

Couldnt decide on dinner and line ups big so opted for deli - did the job.

casino hopping Sunday night. I think all or most tables open.

Here Monday am, bagel for breakie and further walk around property. Sat down at Dolphin habitat for @ an hour. Considered doing the dolphin thing but, after watching a few groups realized your hour experience was really maybe five minutes for you. Kind of cool but, didn’t seem much for $300. If alone and not a group then yeah.

    afternoon at beach then pool.

Dinner tonight was at Mediterranean place in casino. It was ok.

taking little break the back to donating funds!

Overall, we have enjoyed our stay. I think it’s a great four day option. Lots to do or chill. Love the property and the landscaping sand the aquariums and ponds with tons of sealift!

too many pools to count. Never had a problem getting a chair. All cabanas were empty. Asked -$500.

Weather was perfect @25c. Rained each evening ever so briefly.

We’ll be back. Need to hit players desk tonight after 930 to see if we get any back end comps as we are leaving too early tomorrow.

Crowds were lots of families with young kids and couples. Just noticed today more college kids here.

I think if you get an opportunity to use the Caesar’s comp, take advantage!
