    Portable fans

Hey Electro guy, I do walk around with a portable fan on my face.
    You must be psychic.lol.

I carry a battery charged water fan that sprays water on me and then I press the button and the fan goes on. I impress a lot of people on the bus
when I use it. I put ice in the water.lol. Everybody wants to know where to buy one. You can buy one at a drugstore.

One day I was walking around and a little girl told her mom, "I AM HOT"!
So I sprayed her with the water and then blew her face with the fan.
I did that to the whole family.lol. The little girl got really happy. Lucy

    Thanks for some good information!

I am hoping that the "overide" hint will work in some places - I've heard of the 'balloon' trick - seems a bit too much work, though!

I always get excited when I can turn the thermostat down to 54 and leave the room, only to come back to the coolest room ever (this is what happened in the Excalibur suite - no maid service for three days (didn't want them to turn off the a/c) - got down to 54 in both rooms of the suite - awesome to return to the room (and hot hallway) with this hitting you!!!)

    Any other experiences???

I stayed at TI in August a couple of years ago, and didn't have any problems keeping the room cold. And being from Texas, I like my AC cold.

I had a room at MGM once that obviously had a broken A/C.
My huge mistake was accepting the whole
"We will send up maintenance right away" B.S.
We went out and came back late
and spent a suffocating night in that room.

If I ever walk into a room that hot again I am marching immediately back down to the front desk and demanding a new room...(even if the front desk IS 500 miles away!)

Stayed at Cosmopolitan last week. First thing I did after unloading the bags was to Google search the brand of thermostat in the room. Can't remember the specific model, but I searched something like "Maxcool override." Had that sucker cranked down to 60 (previously wouldn't go below 65) in less than a minute and it was fantastically cold the whole stay. I was nice enough to put it back on 65 before checkout.

With my luck, if I tried that I'd get sued or arrested. :confused2:
