    My Trip Report

All packed up and waiting to make my annual “one night in Vegas” trip on the way to visit family and golf in Palm Desert with my good friend, Cory. I didn’t think I’d do a trip report, but someone pointed out that it’s a great way to keep a bit of a log of the experience. Given my infrequent visits, that seems like a good idea and worth a shot.

    Overview

Direct flight from MKE to LAS with an early afternoon arrival. First time going the Caesar’s property route after finding some unexpected room comps despite it being Super Bowl weekend. Will only be around the strip for about 19 hours, so went the Cromwell route given the central location to tour the Empire and what I’m told is as quick parking to room process.

    Goals

    • Hit up all eight CET properties and gamble in each
      • Some of the stops may need to be brief, but having primarily played MGM in the past, I want to see them all.
    • Focus on table games
      • Craps will be the primary for relatively longer sessions ($1k buy-ins on $25 tables), but surely will be some hit and run blackjack and roulette.
    • Not settle for craps tables I don't want to be playing
      • With these one-night trips, I used to have a more limited bankroll and had to play the cheapest tables I could find, even if it wasn’t good. On the no-no list:
        • Not enough players (I prefer not to shoot/play the line)
        • Crapless
        • Dealers that can’t handle/don’t want to handle my bets. Quick regression, then a lot of pressing. I don’t want to be double-checking math or getting side-eye.
    • Dinner at Ramsay's Pub & Grill
      • It my first awesome meal in Vegas some years back, so I’m happy to get back.
    • Cigar at Montecristo's
      • This will very much be dependent upon how the bankroll is holding up at dinner-time. Do I need to relax and enjoy some time, or am I holding up well enough to get back out there?
    • In bed by 2
      • Need enough sleep before hitting up Cascata for a (cold) round of golf before splitting town.
    • Enjoy Cascata
      • Get out to Cascata early enough to enjoy what I hear a fantastic facilities and food for a couple hours before teeing off.
I’m going to try to give in-and-out reports of my various stops. If you’re crappin’ on a Thursday night in the Empire, let me know!

I'm aware, but will be out late-ish and I have a sleep skill. Plus coming from Central time, it'll be extra late on my body.

Have fun, safe travels, and don’t worry about trying to stay on top of your TR :) You can always come back to it later if you’re too busy having fun. Living in the moment is far more important.

First win! In for $20, out $30 waiting for Cory to get a players card. Very possibly the only slots I'll play.

One Empire state down at PH. In $100 on ETG roulette, out $0. Cory, however, flipped his hundo into $402. Great success!

Horseshoe goes on the shit-list! In $120 ETG craps, out $0 with ZERO drink service. Cory scores another +$89.

Back at The Cromwell, checked in and enjoying a room cocktail before the main event and live table action. Bankroll preservation to this point.

CET is terrible for that. Early access? Fee. Late check-out? Fee. Just about anything? Fee. You have to be 7* to even get complimentary early check-in. It's sometimes possible to get early check-in via the back door by showing up early and just saying something like "Oh, I know I can't check into a room yet. I'm just registering my arrival so y'all can let me know when a room's available." Often - but not always - this will result in a room being assigned on the spot.

I gotta agree with this. I think Paris' relatively compact casino floor helps. PH just seems to have cocktail servers who haul ass!

Nursed $100 at the CP sports book for a LONG time. Out zero (and a few Captains). Now, on to dinner.
