What golf shot makes you the happiest?

To the flip side of the what make you the maddest thread, what makes you the happiest on the golf course?

Playing yesterday, we got stuck behind a very slow foursome. If my partner and I could have had one good hole together, we could have caught up and passed the group ahead of us but we took turns hacking it up and just couldn't get off the green before they finished teeing off. It took 7 holes but we got to the tee on a par 3 while they were around the green and they waved us up. It was a 185 yd hole and I was first up. My partner encouraged me with "give something to look at". I knocked a 5-iron to 20 feet. That felt good.

Also, since I'm not as young as I used to be and I'm feeling it, I can't reach par 5s in two shots anymore. Popped a couple Tylenols yesterday and reached a 500 yard par 5 in two yesterday. Didn't hit the green but was pin high just off the green so that makes me happy, too.

 

Sinking a very long putt is the most satisfying for me.

To me...it really shows that I know how to "read the green".
On the golf course I play 90% of the time ---
we only have one "bowled" green.
When I am putting from above the cup --- I love setting up my stance sideways to the hole.
I see the others in my group kinda dropping their mouths "Where the hell is he aiming ?"
Most of the golfers I've played with NEVER read the "Bowled Shaped "green correctly.
And even if I just leave it next to the cup -- they're always amazed.

I don't hit a golf ball very far -- so no drives really get me juiced.

 

THE last one

 

Oh, yesss! I did that once on the local public course on #18 from about 50 feet. Had my back to the hole when I took my stance. Awesome!! What made it even better is that at this course, the bar in the clubhouse overlooks the 18th green and has huge picture windows, so about 20 people saw me do it. When I walked into the bar, I got a cheer and about 5 free beers!!!!!!

 

The one where the drink/snack cart girl comes by......

 

For me, it's the recovery shot that you don't hit everyday and never practice.
Like a punch shot from under the trees that somehow finds the green.

 

A nice accurate flop shot with my PW or SW onto the green.

 

A well struck 3 iron with a slight draw. The penetrating ball flight it has and the distance it goes is fun to watch.

 

I dont get uptight about golf because I know that it takes alot of practice to be good at it.

I used to get upset but got to thinking that its just like facing major league level pitching. Sure, anyone can do it but going from the easy chair to the batters box aitn as easy as we might think it is.

The driving range is all of our friends and that is where good players are made.

It is a relief after I missed the green, and a good chip is a skill shot.

 

Anytime I hit a green in regulation. LOL

 

When playing a par 3 120-160 yards away and getting the ball on the green on the first shot. If this happens, there is always a potential for a birdie and these birds are hard to get.

 

I'd probably side with an iron hit dead on the nuts. The sound, the sensation.

 

Some good ones were mentioned...a perfect flop shot, a par 5 in two, the solid iron...But for me it would be that perfect drive, where my natural draw follows the fairway's dogleg. My home course has a hole that fits me perfectly, like they designed it with me in mind.
