I don't feel up to writing a full trip report, but thought I would share some info from my recent trip(s)

First of all this was two trips over the course of a month. During my first trip I gambled at Gold Coast, Main Street Station and California. Trip #1 I gave Boyd some decent action - 28,000 Tier Points over the course of 4 days. I usually don't play that much but a two grand night at the Palms padded my bankroll a bit. I've been visiting Vegas a couple times a year for 10 years and I've never been half way to Sapphire before. 95% of my play at Boyd properties is video poker.

My level of play during trip 1 was good enough to get me bumped up to Sapphire (requires 25,000 tier over the course of a year).

On the advice of a couple people on this board, I got in touch with a host at MSS a couple weeks later (my home casino through Boyd). I had no offers in the system yet but decided to take a last minute trip (didn't book a return flight to keep my options open - Seattle/Tacoma sucks lately for cheap flights to Vegas, you save almost nothing for booking well in advance.) She was able to give me my first night free, and the next two at casino rate with the possibility of getting those charges removed later.

Wasn't feeling so hot during one day of my stay so I only made 15k in tier points over the course of those 3 days. I blame the awesome bartenders at the Boar's Head bar. The host wasn't able to do anything for me when I checked with her. I had to pay for the last 2 nights of hotel. I was up about $800 bucks at that point. At 43,000 tier points.

The day before checking out of MSS - still hadn't booked a return flight - I checked BConnectedonline and saw that I had received a new offer for hitting Sapphire - 3 nights, no weekend restrictions, for ANY of the Vegas Boyd properties. I guess this is the Sapphire reward mentioned on Boyd's gaming literature.

Decided on a change of scenery, picking Sam's Town (wanted to check out their FPDW video poker).
Sam's Town kicked my butt, lost a grand there due to hitting only 1 quad duece hand. I earned another 30,000 tier points. I spent all of 7 dollars on food there over 3 days (points + free buffet and sports book restaurant promos) so I didn't charge anything to the room. Maybe I should have charged something to the room? 30k in tier points could have got me something from a host at Sam's Town right? 73,000 tier points total.

Left town down 800 after a bad all nighter at non Boyd properties downtown before catching a flight home. I took my luggage on the free shuttle between Sam's Town and Fremont and checked my baggage overnight. I like taking the WAX to and from the airport for 2 dollars a trip vs getting ripped off by a cab driver.

It has been a few weeks since I got back. So far no offers from Sam's Town, but 2 free nights, unrestricted, for July (no food or freeplay) at MSS. I'm assuming that offer is based on trip #1's play.

Anyone have any idea when future offers will post? Will I get separate offers for Sam's Town without calling a host there? I want to take another trip in July.

I am curious about this. You checked your luggage with the shuttle to the airport, then back to town for awhile? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question.

Checked my luggage at the Fremont Casino overnight. There's a free shuttle that goes between California/Fremont and Sam's Town.

I have been Sapphire for the last 3-4 years, with home casino @ MSS.
I am at the "B" level, in regards to comps (Code indicated on your mailer)
I play between 3000-5000 pts per day, either @ MSS or Gold Coast.

I get 4 any time nights, $75 FP, and meal book, every month from MSS and other offers from GC and Orleans.

Brenda Palmer or Ipo Boast are the best hosts @ MSS, IMO.
    Steffi Chen is @ GC.

Thanks for the info. When you say points are you talking tier or comp points? The reason I ask is that a lot of my play is on reduced comp point machines that still give full tier points. Booked MSS through Ipo - 5k tier a day wasn't enough to get any of the room nights comped beyond the up front night.

it really depends on your ADT..also, with Boyd, they like to see THREE CONSECUTIVE decent play trips.
There offers go back 18 months, up to 6 months (so the offers you get in July, will be from your play in February and farther back)
if you play 100% games, expect your play to need to be DOUBLE others...

Might be a stupid question, but I assume you went to B Connected and changed casinos to Sam's to check for other offers?

Joe is leading you in the right direction. I have not played at Sam's Town (a very short craps session in May of last year) and just was playing around and checked their offers on line. 5 complimentary nights. Don't know if I had history which was enticing to them and I had SOME history there or what but every other property is 2 or 3 nights. Just FYI.

I remember when Harrahs and National Airlines were partners... National Airlines had a desk inside Harrahs where we were able to check in our luggage upon checkout of the room, the luggage would be sent to the airport via Shuttle... Ahhh... the good ol' days!!! Such small conveniences went such a long way...

That "short" craps session obviously did some damage, because if you've got 5 nights at Sams, then you're full RFB...how big did you play??? (either that, or they rated you very favorably).

Didn't check with BConnected over at Sam's Town, but already confident that MSS would continue to send free room offers and wanted to see if my level of play could persuade Sam's Town to start sending them as well. I don't like short trips, so back to back free bookings would be ideal. The possibility of food and freeplay would be nice, but room is more important to me. Figure i'm not a big enough player to get 4 or 5 nights from MSS.

Just got my offers today for 2 nights free, August or September at MSS. Nothing yet from Sam's Town.

I believe Joe is referring to the website, not the physical desk at Sam's Town. It always defaults to your 'home' casino with Boyd, just pick Sam's Town from the drop down menu to see if you also have offers here, though I don't think the ones that just came out are loaded yet.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. This was trip number 2 with a decent level of play, so maybe they will bump me up a notch or two after my next visit? Getting K and L offers now. Good for two nights anytime(K) or two nights Sun-Thur(L)

My point was on BC, to change casinos and look. I have offers from several casinos on the B Connected site, but only receive mailers from MSS.

Thanks Progrocker. Did check the drop down today, but so far nothing new from Sam's Town.

My wife and I went to ST many years ago and really like the property but that was back with Mary's Diner and a good coffee shop. We haven't been back to stay in about 12 years. Last October was about 45 minutes with a friend just checking out ST as we were staying at Orleans and wanted to take him around and show various Boyd properties. We went mainly to play the all/tall/small but had no luck.....level of play was not big....pass line 3x4x5x odds and a couple of place bets maybe 18$ 6&8 with press to 30 a unit at a time. We did put the dealers on the line but not more than 2x. I think they won one and lost one. Overall I think he won about 100 $ and I lost 150 $ or so. Only 5 players including us at the time--mid-afternoon.

One thing we noticed was the table was almost like plywood covered by felt vs. Orleans having a great deal more padding....when the dice hit the sound was obvious.

5 FREE NIGHTS in a Deluxe Room. You will receive 11x Points on Reels and 7x Points on Video Poker Slot machines.
    Valid at the following location:

Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall - Las Vegas

    Book Online
or call 1-800-634-6371 and mention offer code I0914SV.

this is also listed for July and August....you got me why. And I am an "I".....

OK, so you must have been rated very highly at craps (My host said $75 average will get RFB). Sounds about like you were there with 345x and place bets (when I played craps there, I usually did $5+$30 odds passline only, but apparently they never rated me for more than $15)
My offer code is I0914SH and I've got 3 nights,
I = Sams Town Property Code
    0914 = Month/Year
    S = Not Sure yet
H/V = Offer Code Level (perhaps they go backwards? or V is for 5, nights?)

MG ... I am puzzled by your information above, when I compare it to my history at MSS (my home casino for several years).

We always make 3 trips a year, sometimes 4, staying at MSS , playing 8/5 Bonus VP , and Brenda Palmer is our host. I typically average between 6K - 7K coin-in per day, sometimes more, and used to get 4 anytime nights, $50 free play, and a couple meals tossed in. This year, the bean counters have reduced all of my monthly offers to 3 anytime nights, NO free-play, and two $20 dining coupons. You say that your offers have you at the "B" level, and yet, I play more than you, and my offers are less ... ?????
