Our travel dates are always pretty flexible. When it comes to booking airfare what I do is set up a spreadsheet table where I think of what day I want to be there, like July 1st for our wedding anniversary, and then I check the one way airfare TO for about a week before and the one way airfare FROM for a week afterwards.

Since not all carriers have flights every day and some days people want to travel more than others I can see a pretty big range in the price of airfare. For the last few trips to Las Vegas we would usually fly in on a Tuesday or a Thursday because we could save as much as $300-400 per person flying on those days of the week versus flying in on a Wednesday, Friday or Sunday.
